But, did he ever find one is the question that brings up the question, is the DIVO add-on a great thing to have or just so-so. I am betting so-so if they stopped making them or maybe to costly to keep equiping amps with it?

the head and combo are exactly the same. did you play the black head through the combo's speaker as well to compare? Just curious if you did and if that made them sound virtually the same.

I don't think reverb has a 180 return policy as long as the item is as described. I would re-read that policy. I do believe that you could run EL84's in that OR50 with the yellowjacket converters to reduce the volume. Not sure how it would affect the feel and tone of the amp, but it might be an option worth considering to lower that 50 to maybe a 20 to 30 watt amp. Check them out if you don't already know ab...

Not sure as I had never really focused on just changing out the phase inverter, but it sounds like the lower gain tube has effectively lowered the volume on your amp some as well and is why you are able to drive it harder. With driving the amp harder, it is probably going to sound better and differe...
