Re: OT: How's your week so far?
I just picked up a Peavey VTM 120 head last Saturday and have been tweaking, adjusting the EQ and dip switches and found some really cool tones! It's a simple one channel amp that Peavey made back in the late 80's to early 90's and it captures the feel of a JCM 800 and then some with a monsterous bo...

Re: somewhat OT: Other amp than Orange
I just picked up a Peavey VTM 120, which has tremendous bottom end and fills the Marshall JCM 800/Matamp void for me. I run a Monsterpiece NPN Fuzz through the high gain channel and it's a massive crunch and Stoner Rock kind of vibe, as well as a classic sounding JCM 800 metal sound if needed. Rocke...

Re: Help me find my kind of overdrive pedals?
Keeley Ultra DS1 blows away the stock DS1. I have one and it kicks ass! It has two modes, Seeing Eye (Smooth Marshall-like overive/distortion) & Ultra (Louder, more bottom end to sound, not muffled sounding at all). Monsterpiece NPN Fuzz : I own one of this handmade pedals & it can be dialed in as ...

Re: Just made a trade for a Sunn amp!
I agree. I was experimenting with different settings earlier and the parametric EQ really gave me several interesting tones to work with both playing clean and dirty.

Re: Just made a trade for a Sunn amp!
Thanks! Sunn amps have a rich, full, loud clean that takes to effects pedals really well. Both they're tube based amps and solid state amps are highly praised for the articulate tone you can get. The model I have can get Fender cleans, as well as a Marshall-like vibe. The EQ on this amp has dual cas...

Just made a trade for a Sunn amp!
I just made a Craigslist trade earlier today for a Sunn Stagemaster 2x12 combo. The amp is in great shape, except that it doesn't have speakers yet, but I've used the speaker out in back of the amp to connect to a Peavey 2x12 cab I have. It also doesn't have the footswitch. The amp has awesome clean...

Welcome to the world of Orange!!!! Happy new amp day! My favorite speakers with Orange amps are either Celestion G12H-30 70th anniversary or Celestion Vintage 30. Rock on and enjoy your amp!

Re: Does it annoy you when...........
I've seen threads on different forums as well where there is a question by OP and as you noted, the OP is not heard from again after replies are posted by other people. For the most part, when I have a question I try to make sure I stay with the thread until it dies and sufficent info is presented t...

Re: Photos of my new Tokai Love Rock
Who the hell cares where or how your guitar was made, it's beautiful! As long as you're happy with it, any criticism should be easy to ignore. It looks great with your Orange in your sig pic, although Dave Mustaine doesn't seem very impressed :) . Now there's a guy who likes ugly guitars. DaveMusta...

Re: Photos of my new Tokai Love Rock
Thanks very much for the replies guys! I have no regrets about buying this guitar and it's all that I was looking for in a Les Paul style guitar.
