Re: this forum of ours

I used to post here more often too. It hurts to see how some people are continuously trading great gear. They don't come anything closer to being happy or finding the tone they want. They just lose money in the process and keep on doing this without realising tone is in the fingers. I think I've bee...

Re: Advice query: Two 1x12's on either side of my head?

I'd go 212 for practical reasons. And because it will look better. Probably sound better too. As for mixing, can't comment on alnico's but I know V30s cut like a knife trough butter. You want that because you need less volume to be heard. As for lower volume: there won't be a significant difference....

If you are buying online it will be a gamble. There might be a difference in color too btw.

Re: Effects rig finalizations

In my opinion, M9 is the way to go. It can do three effects at once and you can do some very usefull things that way. For example, turning off an effect by engaging another (distortion on, reverb off for example). Also, scenes can help you turning on multiple effects at the same time. And M9 has a m...

Re: Report - Orange AD30 and Line 6 M13

I agree. I think a lot of people would think it's the real deal in a blind test. For me it would cover all my effects needs for the price of a couple of pedals. And whatever they say, I love the dirties! http://youtu.be/Z2pX599xo7M" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Only the TS sounds a ...

Re: Bass distortion pedal?

I have used a BB Bass Preamp with my P, Terror Bass and 2 112 cabs. Sounds better than turning up the gain on the TB beyond 12 o'clock (in my opinion). Definitly worth checking out.

Re: People who don't care about gear?!

Regarding talent/skills/whatever, think of this; you guys over here are probably the kind of people that would buy a Honda/Repsol Fireblade to race at 200 mph, while some people rather buy a Harley and go out on a sunny day to cruise around at 40 mph. Do you need a Harley to go 40 mph? Hell, even la...

Re: Fender + Tech21 Liverpool = Vox?

I own the Liverpool and I really like it as a Ampsimulation into the board but not before my real amp. It just sounds wrong before another preamp, maybe its the speakersim. don't know. I believe there are other other pedals for voxtones. I love the Z.Vex Box of rock into my deluxe reverb, but that ...

Fender + Tech21 Liverpool = Vox?

Hi everyone, It's been a while, I hope you're all good :) I'm playing a Les Paul Special (P90s) or a Strat into an Eventide Timefactor into a Princeton Reverb RI. I'd like to add something decent for dirt and could use some advice. Although I'm not a fan of U2 I love Dave Evans' sound. The tones I g...

Re: FAST FOOD

People can choose wether they go to McDonald's or the like; the moral debate in my opinion is how those companies cut down rainforests for livestock. 2 years later the ground is useless and they move on and repeat the process.

Not our problem, but our childrens'. Go world!

Re: Which pedal tuner do you like best?

Turbo Tuner.

But I have to say I like it a lot with bass guitar (very stable), and prefer something less accurate for guitar (even my VOS LP with wraparound bridge is 'hard' to tune with such an accurate tuner).

Re: someone wants to swap my bfg for a r30 combo?

I'd trade your Ibanez for a Tele, but not too sure about the LP for a Rocker. Here's why; I play a Strat and a LP Special with P90s in a Princeton reverb and I feel like that covers a lot of ground. Strat/PRRI = clean, bells, chimey,... The LP/Princeton combo reminded me instantly of Foo Fighters. I...

Re: TH30 Combo, Need more clean headroom

12AX7s have gain factor 100. 12AT7s have 60 (less gain) and 12AY7s even less (30?) - you should be looking for 12AT or AY7s in the slot for the clean channel. The distortion channel won't be affected by this. By doing this you are gonna be able to turn up the volume knob a little more, but in terms ...
