Re: Tone on Dual Terror bassy and muffled
Felt that way about the my TT. Loved the tone but wished it had more high end bite. I then did the British Glory mod and haven't looked back http://gearupgrade.blogspot.de/p/british-glory-tiny-terror-mod-kit.html It still sounds like an Orange (that Marshall talk is a bit exagurated) but with more t...

Nice rig
Reminds me of a gig where I stacked my ad30 on top of a 70s Orange 412 + Overdrive head:

Re: NAD - Hiwatt content
Yeah, its the DR103 and it sounds equally amazing for bass and guitar.
What cabs/speakers do you Hiwatt guys play your amps through? I found, that the great Orange Cabs don't necessarily sound great with the DR.

NAD - Hiwatt content
Hey, proud owner of an early 70s Custom 100 here. Heard about those amps here on the forum first. And after a couple of years reading Andy's Hiwatt praise and researching other online sources and with no chance of ever playing one I bought this baby: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-efzwbGmnipY/VXLaF4wJKjI...

Re: Bass Tone: What is your take on it?
...Some later ones, the two holers (= 2 instead of 4 inputs) and especially the Biacrown models did have some more gain. But with mine you can literally crank the preamp volumes fully and it'll stay very clean until you also get the master up near full. There is a little more gain on the bright cha...

Re: Bass Tone: What is your take on it?
...My Hiwatt though won't compress or distort until it gets very loud... Hey Andy, you own the DR103 right. I bought one too recently and enjoy it very much for both bass and guitar. I played a first gig with it and it held up perfectly, so much punch and clarity. It's like switching to grand piano...

Re: Bass Tone: What is your take on it?
+1 I use it with my bass and love the sound. But it's not like a guitar pedal where you hear all the distortion in the band mix, it makes the bass sound deeper and bigger and synthier.Les Paul Lover wrote:Have you tried the zvex woolly mammoth?

Also like autowah and octaver for bass.

Re: Steelguitar anybody?
I mistakenly thought that it might be tuned to a chord like a lap steel. I didn't realise how important it is to use fingerpicks to pull the chords out. I'm really thinking I might sell it and get a lap steel instead - maybe one with the Duesenberg bridge... No, dont sell the pedalsteel! Put only 6...

Steelguitar anybody?
I occassionaly play steel in jamsessions and little gigs. These are the two workhorses 1. Fender Dual Pro for ambient and countryish stuff: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o4DiQD4SSbs/VPSgZvd5F1I/AAAAAAAABNo/D_OJAKwDcyo/s1600/DSCF7347.JPG 2. Re: Anyone gigging with a tiny terror???!! I'd love to!!
The Tiny Terror is perfectly giggable if you have a cab efficient enough. That and if you don't need super clean sounds, your drummer is not too loud and you don't have to compete with a second guitarrist that doesn't understand band dynamics ;D I did it a couple of times and liked it, because you ...

Re: AD30TC plus Vintage 30s = crap sound to my ears!!!
Don't be shy to crank bass and mids on the ad30, the eq can be used all the way. Love the V30 with the AD30. I have one PPC212 with Alnico Eminence Red Fangs and an unbalanced 4x12 with two V30 in it. They both sound great with the AD30 but very different. The Alnicos sound really sweet though they ...

Re: Fuzz Fuzz Fuzz
Haven't tried the other fuzzes in this thread so I can't really compare but my favorites that I own and use a lot are Mahoney Bosstone (middy oldschool), Lovepedal 200lbs (nice low end and sustain, sounds a little like a better big muff), ZVex Fuzz Factory (crazy gated stuff) and Mammoth (nice limit...
