Solo artist name question?
Hi guys. Long time no see. I hope this is okay to post here, I'm hoping you can help me out. I'll shortly be recording a bunch of my own music under my name. I've previously only ever put out music under a band name, but this time I want it to be clear it's all me, all instruments and writing and pr...

Re: Heads up for a UK-based Les Paul bargain...
At first glance it looks legit, but... If it's a stock Traditional, why does it have exposed-coil zebra pups? If that question can be answered, then it's just an amazing deal - unless there's a typo in the price. If those are actual photos of the guitar, and there is no reason to suspect otherwise, ...

Re: RV50 Bi-amp with ???
Have you considered something like a Fender Hotrod Deluxe? It's a more American-style sound, so would definitely add that kind of "bigness" you're looking for without being a backbreaker to cart around, and it's different enough from the Orange tone that it will add more to your sound without being ...

Re: This is why the music industry sucks.
To further add to that, it's actually fairly rare that all band members get paid the same. Unless we're talking money from record sales, which is moot because bands never see any of that, or cash from touring which is a separate thing. Royalies are usually split massively in favour of the principal ...

Yo Deetch.
This cash you're getting, whatever you do, make the first thing you buy with it a gift for her. This will be an excellent move because it leaves the field open to then introduce the idea of pool tables, arcade machines, widescreen TVs and all kinds of other good stuff.
Congrats dude.

Not sure what you mean. It's not a limited run, it's just another Orange amp model. I've got one on order now, shouldn't be a problem.

"As for the carbon footprint, we mostly don't believe it. The news last night carried a report on the effects of Cap and Tax. If you did everything, the economy would be decimated and the temperature would be reduced by .0015 degrees in 100 years. Not a heck of a lot of difference. What it would do ...

I'll draw one on in Tipp-Ex. At the moment I'm trying the master the art of not falling over while switching effects. Turns out I'm not so steady on one leg as I though.Alan wrote:But the Marshall one doesn't have a handy "foot" logo on it to remind you how to use it after fourteen pints

Cheers dude, that's good news. I might just keep using the Marshall one and save myself thirty quid.Alan wrote:It'll be fine. Any DPDT latching switch will do and your Marshall one will work (well, one of the buttons will anyway)

Re: MIJ Fender Mustang Pickups
That's the problem with the Mustang, the wiring rig is so esoteric that the volume levels from setting to setting can be really different. It's also a guitar designed for clean stuff like jazz and surf music, it's not built to handle gain all that well and the circuit can get really microphonic. I k...

Orange footswitch
Hey dudes I got an Orange DT on order, but like a fool I forgot to order a switch for it. Just wondering what other footswitches I can use with it. I have a Marshall 2-button switch, but will it even work, and am I risking f*cking up the switch input if I use something other than the standard Orange...

Re: Orange cabs the best?
It's clear that looks-wise, nothing is quite as distinctive as an Orange cab. Purely in terms of range of sounds, I'd say that Marshall has the most stuff to choose from. They have like 20 different models of 4x12, all with different speaker configurations, some in different sizes, some with differe...

Re: WORST tone you've ever heard?!?
Thats pretty much my point exactly. Anyway, I feel like PRS gets a bad wrap, mostly in part because of the fact that they are transcended by the douchery of the majority of people who use them (present company excluded) based on nothing more than their looks. Yeah they are "prrreeetty". But they ar...

Re: WORST tone you've ever heard?!?
Well this won't change any minds but, I've played with a doctor who has a very nice guitar collection. He's brought 3 of his Les Pauls to gigs for me to play, and 2 of them I put back after a set, and only one, an oxblood with a wrap around tailpiece, was as nice, sounding and playing, as my PRS. Y...
