My band's debut album

Hey all, my band, Cutlass Supreme, recently recorded and self-released our debut album Strictly Business. Our lead guitar player played all of his parts through my Tiny Terror. You can listen to/download the album for free at http://www.cutlasssupreme.bandcamp.com . We have been described as a mix b...

Why do you listen to the music you listen to?

Hey all, I'm curious why people listen to the styles of music they listen to. Is it because your friends introduced your favorite band? Is it because you play an instrument and you like listening to styles that highlight that instrument? Do certain songs touch your heart where others don't? Basicall...

Re: my bands demos with orange th30

I'm digging the tunes. As far as the recording goes, I think the snare should definitely be turned up. The snare is the driving force of the beat and is being drowned out by cymbals. Cymbals always cut through the mix because they have such a high frequency so it usually isn't as important to have t...

Tiny Terror Repair

Hey all, my Tiny Terror broke recently and I'm debating whether I should attempt to repair it myself or pay a professional. I wasn't present when it broke, but I'm pretty sure one of my "friends" unplugged the head from the cabinet while there was still signal running through it. The tubes still hea...

I like Steve. He puts on a great live show. Last time I saw him he had 2 awesome violinists that were playing with him. They would all trade off classical licks and then play together. I wish I could have seen him back when Billy Sheehan was playing with him though.

Some videos from my gig

I haven't been on the forum in a while (I've been busy), but I thought you guys might want to know that I just played my first gig in a real venue tonight! The even better news is that I have documentation and I think we sounded pretty good. Vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWJ3So32RtE&fmt=18 ht...

I'm not a huge fan, but I do enjoy some hip hop. I like a lot of the really early stuff like Grand Masta Flash and The Sugerhill Gang. The new bands that I'm into are Medium Troy - They mix reggae and hiphop very well. http://www.myspace.com/mediumtroy The Knux - They do a great job mixing hip hop w...

My old band dabbled in Metal. http://www.myspace.com/colinandthefruitypebbles - Check out the songs Sons of Liberty and Stalker they are the closest to metal out of the 4 on the site. I would say we were primarily a punk band that had influences in rock and metal though.

the only time I would pay over $100 is if it's for a 3 or so day festival and I like enough bands to justify the money. Bumbershoot was exactly $100 for me last year and it was definitely worth it. So many great bands and I got to see them all front row (or close to it).

Hey guys, I'm looking for a classical guitar but I have absolutely no idea what to look for. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money (seeing as I'm just learning classical guitar), but I want something with a decent tone (which I also probably couldn't identify). I don't need it to have pickups or a...
