Re: New member - need some Rockerverb 50 advice
Yeah, the masters are pretty sweet on RV50's, so you could turn it down, or buy an attenuator from the likes of weber (best for the money IMO). I understand though, when they are cranked, it's a whole different ball game, those 6v6's sing!

Time for a RV50 Retube!
Ok, it's been about a year and a few months since I bought my rockerverb, and I ran it pretty damn hard for about 8 of those months I was in a band for. I know people mostly get JJ, but I've also heard they do some weird things to the mid and upper range. Also, I think i'll buy new preamp tubes as w...

Re: RV50 Cleans..
I don't know how much twiddling you have done and in what direction but I will try to give you some pointers. I owned the RV50c and used it with my Les Paul. Initially I was exhasperated because it sounded so muddy on the clean channel with humbukers. I lowered the bass and cranked the treble but i...

RV50 Cleans..
..suck. I've had the amp for a little over a year now, and play a number of guitars through it, I just can't get the channel to sound good. It's almost unplayable with my LP, its just too overpowering if you're doing anything but soft/fingerpicking stuff. I've tried tons of settings and all that, bu...

Re: Problem with OCD into RV50!
Ah well, it's a shame, but I'm still keeping the OCD, it sounded really unbelieveable on just a little fender deluxe. It surprised me, as I never liked the sound of it in clips, and always opted for the Fulldrive 2.

Re: Problem with OCD into RV50!
The problem is you ran it through the RV50's dirty channel. Try it through the clean channel, and it will sound good. The dirty channel has plenty of its own built in distortion, so the pedals have little to add but stuff you won't like. It would be like daisy chaining several distortion pedals and...

Re: Problem with OCD into RV50!
I would get a Fender, but I also really want an AC30 pretty badly too. I like both of their cleans a lot, but the vox has the option for dirt, yet theres always a quality issue.

Re: Problem with OCD into RV50!
Hm, that's a bummer. I've been meaning to get rid of this head for too long now, this just might push me over the edge. It especailly blows because I was getting the most perfect SRV tone at the store. I have major gas for a JMI AC30(the new handwired, not the old ones), but they have like, 3 dealer...

Problem with OCD into RV50!
So I went into my local music store yesterday with the intent of buying a Fullton Supa-Trem, which was awesome, yet walked out with an OCD. I tried it on a few of the Fenders(Twin Reverb, Deluxe, Super Reverb) and I honestly couldn't find a bad sounds of it with my Tele. Now, I bring it home, with h...

Re: Simple RV50H Question!
Most people tend to like the Low option, including myself. It has a certain "organic" quality to it compared to the high, IMO.

I'll try to find a picture of the RV50 with the preamp tubes labled, the one I have is all distorted for some reason.

Re: Decibel Measurements for Orange Amps
RV50's aren't very loud IMO. WIth gain at 3/4 (3 'oclock) I have set the master at noon for shows/practice. I guess it depends on the application though.
