Re: LETS SEE SOME PEDALBOARDS!!!

https://i.postimg.cc/TYpzqbKm/new-live-board-aug-2020.jpg Tedious backstory: I had/have a very nice board...let's call it Board A. A Pedaltrain 2, migrated to a Pedaltrain Novo 24 almost exclusively due to the fact that the PT2's 'rise' was not high enough to fit a new power supply underneath (CIOK...

Re: Anyone Here Using A Strat & Orange Amp?

An EJ Strat and a Rockerverb 50 Mk I used to be my primary rig. I did about 2 years of local gigs and regional touring with that setup with satisfactory results. BUT....I found the Orange 2x12 closed back cab was not a good choice so I moved over to an Avatar 4x12 with Eminence something or others. ...

Re: OT: Being well rounded vs specialized as a musician

The world is full of uber talented virtuosos in various genres (shred, blues, etc.) who have woodshedded for years only to play to half-empty roomfuls of fanboys and must slog their guts out living on the road to even have a chance of earning a living from music. On the other hand, the music busines...

Re: NGD!

I probably will never own a LP but they are everywhere so one can't help but develop opinions and likes and dislikes. That is what a LP should look like, in my view. I have no problem with relic'd, VOS or whatever other process Gibson uses on some of their high end vintage reissues. Brand spanking n...

Re: Rockerverb for Classic Rock?

I had a Rockerverb MkI 50W for classic rock which delivered great results with or without some boost, OD, etc. Initially I had the 2x12 CB cabinet but as others have said it was a Death Star beam in front of the speakers and virtually nothing outside them...I eventually got an Avatar 4x12 Fender sty...

Re: Rocker 15! Wow!

I just saw the Facebook promo and popped in after a long while...you could say the cat got my tongue or, more accurately, you could say the bad cat stole my vox  Anyway, wanted to say the Rocker 32 looks very intriguing. I had a blast with my Rockerverb 50 Mk 1 head but in the end I think I'm a...

Re: How does everyone do their dual amp setup?

I guess I'm lazy/lucky. Last pedal in the chain (all in front) is a TimeFactor. It has two outputs..will split the signal even when effect is off. It will also split its dual delays for stereo and ping pong effect even if the input is mono...which it is for me. I do have a Radial passive ABY but rar...

Re: Photo image resizer software?

FastStone will also do individual or bulk resizing. Available from http://ninite.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (along with many other indispensible free tools)

Paint.net is a free image editor that will also resize but individually only.

Re: Band Burnout?

I suppose the pat answer is to say when the scale tips to the ‘not fun’ side. All musicians ruefully joke about the hours, the pay (if there is any on offer), and the frankly ridiculous amount of gear that even a basic four-piece must own (or rent), haul and setup only to do it all in reverse a few ...

After a disastrous flirtation with a Trem-O-Verb I still get an involuntary shudder when I see the M/B logo.

Re: Live gigs - need a road warrior guitar or mods to curren

Raising the tailpiece on Gibsons changes the tone (and string tension) quite a bit. I far prefer them tight on the body myself!  Also is it possible you have the bridge pieces on backwards? See here: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showpost.php?p=2558780&postcount=4" onclick="window.o...

Re: Live gigs - need a road warrior guitar or mods to curren

I'm using 10s on all... I switch between an SG and a Strat...I suppose the thinking is one can deputize for the other but in a perfect world they have their roles. I am breaking the G and Ds during strums not lead breaks. I admit that the strums may have been digging in because our live sound/onstag...

Live gigs - need a road warrior guitar or mods to current

I do love my vintage designs/reissues (VOS SG, '57 Strat) but they are giving me fits onstage. I've never been a string-breaker but have lost several on both guitars last two gigs. I admit that looks and 'classic model cred' are important but then so is getting through a set or a show with strings a...

Re: Bass Player Craigslist ad...

Saw that a while back. Good stuff and as usual it's not too far from reality. Reminds me of a listing, a posting or some other source material that went along the lines of: I am not your chauffeur. Rides to and from rehearsal are your responsibility. I am not an AA or rehab counselor. You are in cha...
