Re: Product idea
I know it’s mostly crickets around here lately but maybe someone will see this. With so many guitarists moving to reactive load+impulse response setups, it could potentially be a lucrative business strategy for companies like Orange to create reactive load boxes designed to mimic the behavior of th...

Re: Daek Terror Effects Loop Tube
Really no good answer, but I would hope a long time. I have tubes that are still good after many years….I’ve had tubes that lasted a couple weeks… I think its good practice to have a spare and if you question it you can always swap it in to see if there is any change in the quality of the effects lo...

Re: Considering building my own true-bypass loop switcher
I’ve built lots of pedals and switch boxes. I’ve bought from several places and mostly find them all the same unless you’re looking for a special feature (low profile, PCB mount, momentary etc…). Being mechanical, theres really no guarantee on longevity. A top quality switch is fairly expensive, but...

Re: Tubes !!
No source, but yeah. Since the war started sanctions have limited the tube supply. Yeah, it's easy to forget that about 1/3rd of the worlds supply of tubes (because there's only about THREE factories that make them anymore) comes from the one place where no one's willing to buy stuff from anymore. ...

Re: Orange Amp Power Tube Usage
Many thanks for the answers and advice. Jondog and Billy C. It’s a little bit like putting a variac on the power supply, like Eddie Van Halen did. The tubes run at a lower voltage and you get a little more compression happening. Personally I never liked the 7 watt setting on the Tiny Terror, I pref...

They're back! sort of.... LED's, 9 volt in, tweaked design, but they're still freaking cool! http://www.theallens.theallens.com/neworangepedals.jpeg https://orangeamps.com/phaser-pedal/ https://orangeamps.com/distortion-pedal/ https://orangeamps.com/sustain-pedal/ Very cool they brought them back! ...

Re: Orange Amp Power Tube Usage
Yes both tubes are working. When you switch to 7 watt mode, the transformers voltage is stepped down resulting in lower output wattage

Re: Your favorite pedals
I don’t even know where to start, so many pedals I’ve had. In recent years I’ve found I’ve gone back to favoring Boss pedals unless its a fuzz or weird sound pedal.

Re: Orange Amps Power Supply
Orange amps have a typical power supply found in most tube amps, which “clean up” or smooth the power being supplied by filtering it. This won’t regulate the voltage, and is highly affected by the voltage level being supplied meaning everything else in the amp is affected, voltage to the tubes and h...

Re: modify an orange 212PPC? Vertical. casters, more handles, locking corners
+1 for the Port City oversize vertical for a nice manageable cab that sounds big. I built a clone and I wish I never got rid of it! Sold it to a guy that played through it and loved it, figured I could always build another one, time has been the issue however… I had some WGS Reaper HP’s in it that s...

Re: Ade digs 210 cabs, why don't they make one?
Sounds like a familiar term. Was a long time ago I read about it. Was building a ported cab and was studying the different techniques. It’s been posted here I built an oversized Port City 2x12 clone, that was a good cab! Should of never got rid of it!

Re: Ade digs 210 cabs, why don't they make one?
One of my favorite cabs was a 2x10. I now use a 4x10 Marshall. I actually only have two speakers in it hooked up and prefer the sound over all four, so technically its an oversized 2x10! :D A ported 2X10! Sort of..it still has 4 speakers in it. But I’ve heard this is a technique used sometimes as t...
