Re: Buckethead-style arcade kill switch mod
See the last paragraph in my 1st post. It's a very small thing to be picky about, I know.

Re: Buckethead-style arcade kill switch mod
Thank you guys! I'm actually going to be attempting this on my friends older Parker Nitefly. The piezo section is dead, and rather than having it be a waste of space I thought I would try to use it for something. I'm going to end up rewiring everything anyway so I'm going to remove the piezo section...

Buckethead-style arcade kill switch mod
Hello all, question for those who are electronic savvy. I'm not the best when it comes to wiring and I have an idea for an arcade button style kill switch that I would like to know whether or not it is possible to put in a guitar, and if so, how complicated it would be. I will try to explain this as...

Re: Does swapping out old power tubes really improve your to
Biasing wasn't important in this situation. If he is replacing old/used-up JJ 6V6 power tubes with new JJ 6V6 power tubes then the circuitry math suggests that no variance has taken place. Sorry but that is plain wrong. Not all JJ 6V6 valves will have identical current draw characteristics. (Far fr...

Re: Does swapping out old power tubes really improve your to
You guys are right about use over age, I probably should have worded those parts of my Tumblr post better. In the case of my amp, the old tubes were used quite often during the roughly 3 years that they were in my amp. My band plays fairly regularly with 1-3 shows a month, regular band practices, al...

Re: Does swapping out old power tubes really improve your to
I did not rebias the amp for this test. Partly because the ratings between each set of tubes was pretty close, and also because I wanted the only variable to be the age of the tubes.
That is a good point that I should have mentioned, thanks for pointing that out.

Does swapping out old power tubes really improve your tone?
Hey guys. So I recently put new power tubes in my RV50mk1 and I was curious as to whether the new tubes really would make the amp sound better or not. I did a little shootout experiment to find out. All the details are here: http://ediblefoliage14.tumblr.com/post/94871281077/does-swapping-out-old-po...

Re: JJs re-tubing question. Is this a bad idea?
To address the biasing issue, I'm not planning on swapping power tubes out yet and definitely not biasing the amp myself at this point. For my dirty channel problems, I have some extra working 12ax7s that I will try swapping out tonight to see if that solves the issue. If I can get that fixed, I wil...

Rockerverb 50 MK 1 dirty channel when out on me!
So I just turned on my amp after just playing a show a few days ago. I noticed that my dirty channel volume is not responding. A little bit of sound does seem to come through, but it's very faint. The gain seems to be the only knob on that channel that is working. Clean channel is fine. I've had my ...

Re: JJs re-tubing question. Is this a bad idea?
Thank you guys for the help! So I'm making a guess that the 2 sets of tubes should be fairly close enough that the swap should be ok. In some other research I found this: "Orange Rockerverb 50 is about 400pv and uses 6V6's (14 watts dissipation) which we bias between 24 to 28mA." from this site: htt...

JJs re-tubing question. Is this a bad idea?
Anyone know anything about the rating stickers on JJs tubes? Here's the sticker off of the power tubes that are currently in my Rockerverb 50 MK 1: http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y441/petelock1/aefd3b1b-6084-4f48-a10b-c21dbd4701e7_zpsff39c161.jpg And here is the sticker off of the tubes I'm goi...

OT: solo EP
Hey guys. So I can be pretty bad when it comes to starting projects. I start a bunch of things and then never get around to finishing them. But I actually finished one! I put this little solo EP together. Nothing too fancy, my goal was to just complete the process of writing, recording, mixing and m...

Re: Zoom R16 users?
Well I went ahead and got one. So far so good! I would agree about the headphone output. I couldn't really hear anything through the headphones while I was recording with my band. This thing is extremely handy though. Especially for a live bands or practices. After everyone is miced up and has good ...
