Re: Dark Terror tone vs RV MkIII 100

@adkguy07 I play hard rock/metal, but not like the modern metalcore stuff... I used to set the shape to just a hair past noon, literally the left-hand side of the line on the knob in line with the right hand side of the line on the amp. EMG81 bridge pickup, and it sounded absolutely wonderful :) Edi...

Re: Dark Terror tone vs RV MkIII 100

My gigging rig was a Dark Terror through a couple of PPC112s for years, and prior to that was the same cabs with a Rockerverb 50 Mk1 head. The Dark Terror had a smoother distortion that sounded better for what I was playing, but a few people did mention that my sound overall was 'smaller' when I wen...

Re: Haven't posted in a long while...

My Rockerverb was great. I sold it to a friend, it's still going strong.

I remember the shock and awe I caused when I replaced it with the Dark Terror :D

Re: Tiny Terror 1x12 Greenback Gigging question

I used to gig with a Tiny Terror (and later, a Dark Terror) through a couple of PPC112s. Never had any problems with volume, and did a few gigs without mic'ing up too. Very rarely needed the volume past about 11 o'clock. Comments have been made about the lack of low end/punch with a lower wattage am...

Re: Anyone gigging with a tiny terror ???

I've gigged with a Tiny Terror, then later a Dark Terror. Never had any problems with volume, and regarding the 'punch and low end' comments, the Dark Terror didn't have as much punch as my Rockerverb, but it still sounded great. I used to put them through a pair of PPC112s, and in 15W mode I very r...

Re: UK Gibson/ Fender prices???

I started a thread about this on the Jackson Charvel forum when I got my custom Kelly: not so much price increases, just the massive disparity between US and UK prices - for instance, an American Jackson (which let's not forget is owned by Fender) retails for £2k or more here, whereas in the States ...

Re: I'm back!

Good to hear you managed to remain amplified!!! Yeah, that Dk Terror will..... errr.... make that HT5 totally redundant I expect. Its a nice littel amp enough, but nowhere as dynamic as what you just got your hands on to.......!!!!! And I dare say, the Dk terror will be much less polite too..... in...

Re: I'm back!

I'm hoping there will be some live stuff at some point, Ant... Either with Skullfunk or something very like it. No concrete plans yet though!

I was always amplified, I've been using a Blackstar HT-5 combo, but that will be heading off to pastures new soon, I hope :)

I'm back!

Hello lovely people. How are things... did you miss me? ;) So, after more or less retiring from gigging a couple of years back and downsizing my rig due to space limitations, I bought another Dark Terror on Monday. I just need to get a cab for it and I'll be up and running again! Yes, I've learnt a ...

I guess the problem is that there's so much set decoration etc that needs to be done it would be impossible to find experts for everything. I could get the guitar gear right but I wouldn't have a clue about drums, keyboards etc...

Re: New Shure Wireless System.

I know that since I bought my Dark Terror my opinion isn't as valid in some people's eyes as when I had my Rockerverb... but I have to say I find this cable/tone/wireless/cable/tone/brand of cable/tone argument a little odd. Surely tone is of maximum importance when you're recording - and I don't kn...

Re: Micro Terror stack? Other suggestions??

I'd tend to agree with Les Paul Lover, to be honest: stick with the TT and just turn it down a bit. If you really can't bear that or it's still too loud, then I'd say you need to forget an amp and look at something like a Line6 pod, with headphones
