Re: Should I replace the Chinese tubes in my TH30?
If you have the schematic, you will see that each valve is separated in 2, with each triode labelled as V1A & V1B or something similar. In any case, V1 is usually located nearest the guitar input as it simplifies the circuit design and lay out. This is what I'm looking at right now --> https://glob...

Re: Should I replace the Chinese tubes in my TH30?
Wanted to re-hash an old thread. I like my amp, but the Dirt channel always seemed a bit dark and way too much gain. Wanted to give it a little more classic Orange/Brit flavor. So I put some GE 5751 tubes in V1 and V2 of the gain stage of my TH30 after trying a bunch of different 12ax7 tubes with n...

Re: PPC 112 and the Chinese V30
The only difference between the Chinese-made V30s vs the UK-made V30s is this - one was made in China, the other in UK. Yes, it is that simple. Materials are the same, the suppliers (for the most part) are the same, and the processes are the same. You'd be surprised how stringent manufacturing proce...

Re: Lead Boost pedal for JRT.
The answer is simple, but you'll require two pedals: one before the preamp and one after (in the efx loop). Any OD pedal (I recommend to keep the Gain low and Level high to slam the preamp into higher OD range) will do before the preamp stage. For the efx loop, use clean boosts. I personally use a T...

Re: First Post - Trying to decide between TT and OR15
Get an OR15 and don't look back. I've previously owned a TT and sold it as my effects just does not sound good in front of the amp. I've only played the OR15; tbh, but from that limited experience I found it to sound big and ballsy (using a ppc112), plus the efx loop can only make your time-based ef...

Re: Need recommendations for lunchbox amp w/ most clean headroom
Thanks everyone. Yeah the options showed Orange coz... I love Orange.
I may look at the 35rt. I completely forgot about that amp. It does have sparkling reviews wherever I look. Another option is a Quilter Mini 101. Still researching more on that too.

Need recommendations for lunchbox amp w/ most clean headroom
Ok boys. Here are my requirements: - Below 20 lbs. Not 20 lbs, not 22 lbs, not 25 lbs and just buy a trolley. Below 20 lbs. - with effects loop - Below 20 lbs  I intend to use this as my pedal-platform amp in not-so-loud venues. I wanna stay with Orange but will not hesitate to find ...

Awesome haul. Congrats!
I'm also married, and I only have one rule when buying guitar stuff: it's always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Re: Good value Pedal Power Supply suggestions
Because a 1spot kind of sucks :) Admittedly, the small 1-spot adapter; when used with more than 2 pedals, will begin to introduce some sort of electrical noise that you may or may not notice, but it's there. Having said that, their bigger "pro" power supplies are IMO the best value in the world of ...

Re: Les Paul Pickups - what do ya got?
Thanks everyone. There seems to be a slight favor towards the 57's. I have tried them and they do sound raw but articulate. I understand that pickup selection is too subjective. But I appreciate everyone's inputs, specially to those who indicated the type of music they play with your LPs. I may just...

Les Paul Pickups - what do ya got?
Hey folks - I'm looking to upgrade my les paul pickups. I currently have the ubiquitous seymuor duncan combo of the 59 + JB. I play alternative -> rock -> some heavy rock. I'm leaning a bit on the BKP The Mule set, but I'm open to other brands/models. So, what do you guys have now? And what kind of ...
