Re: Crate Powerblock

I'd second everything Andy said about them. Mine was used for bass for ages, worked well for that too, DI to house, into its 112 was perhaps the weak link. Guitar made a decent backup.

Re: Any VW Golf owners here?

This is what you need to get: http://adrianerdedi.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Volvo-C30.jpg That car is sick, but a new nice volvo is WAAAY out of my price range. They're cute, but with a rubbish boot. I've got a MkV Jetta. It's a great car, with a Golf interior, but a 527 litre boot, which is b...

I reckon they'd work well in that setting.

Crate Powerblock

I've had one of these things for a while, it's kind of a universal backup (including foldback or bass or FOH in a pinch.) It sounds surprisingly acceptable for bass through a guitar 410, but I tried it in the 410 for guitar recently. Clean it was actually quite good, moving a surprising amount of ba...

Hey Jarret - thank you so so much! I really appreciate it & I'm so glad you're happy with it!  I can't believe it's still buzzing a bit for you!! I thought I almost had the action TOO high! you really do have superhuman strength   12s should definitely sort that out f...

I've been remiss...praises to araT

Sorry Tara, I meant to post to thank you for your job on setup for the acoustic, and sing the praises of your fret job. I'm still a bit torn though, whether to raise the action, or try to be a bit more gentle! I think when I re-string it, I'll just use .12's, then loosen the truss-rod a little if ne...

Re: Won myself some speakers with a free Traynor amp on Ebay ;-)

Sounds like a great find Teddy.

I tried a 20W Traynor a few years ago and really liked it. Great Fendery clean IIRC.

More amps!

Re: Heroin Sucks

I'm sorry for your loss.

I don't know what it's like where you are, but where I work the Drug and Alcohol services are just overwhelmed and funded for far to little capacity. The methadone programs have 18 month waiting lists for instance...

I agree, it's just that 12 o'clock position on the mids for the TubeZone is still a bit scooped I think.

Re: Need a "third channel" on my Rockerverb 100

Hi David, nice to see another Aussie here. I have a TubeZone, but just a TT, not a RockerVerb. However, the TubeZone is a complete bitch to dial in, and I tend to use my Boost n Buff v2 more. With the TZ, try boosting the mids quite a bit, and running the gain less than half, perhaps down towards 9 ...

Re: Hiwatt 1x10 Cabinet - Is this real?

Keep it a 10, just put a good one in it. There's always a place for something a bit smaller and more portable, but if you whack a 12 in it, the weight will go up.

Re: [BUILD] The Taracaster..

I'm pleased to see that Turramurra Music is working to keep their reputation intact. I suspect they've just been a bit stuffed around by the distributor. Have to do something when I pick up to show off the Taracaster, the Doozy, and a couple of Terrors though. I'm happy to wait another week if it me...

Re: [BUILD] The Taracaster..

It's too late, and the Taracaster is still being tweaked.

Perhaps next week when I pick up the acoustic? She'll have the DT back by then and we might try to do something simple. Add Cajon and Acoustic to the electric and we'll have the instrumentation, just my chops are the weak point!
