Re: Guitar Shootout Video: Gibson Les Pauls, SG, Ric 360, Te

Great video.
To my own surprise i thought these where the best sounds...
1-ric
2-tele
3-sg
4-lp std
5-lp studio

The ric really sounded tight, dark and a little bit fuzzy in a good way to my ears.

Re: Two bands, different tunings, one guitar?

Fix the junior or buy a second hand guitar that you can afford. I have been doing the tune up tune down story a while and it really started to get my guitar at a point where it didn't feel nice to play no matter what tuning i was. As the 2nd hand market is really a buyers market these days score a g...

Re: Studio Monitors - any cheap/budget recommendations?

I like the yamaha hs 50's, i have them to play guitar at home with my pod. Flatter response than the krk's they get a spike in the high's and lows.

Re: An Indie Rock Sound?

The first record of arctic monkeys was a strat through an AD30. That being said, a tele through a rocker 30 was very indie to my ears as long as you tweak the gain. Fender and vox amps are also the way to go, one thing i found really easy to duplicate was the tone of some of that bands you mention. ...

Re: I made a Rocker 30 video.

I never got mine to sound like that, but that has more to do with me than the amp i guess  . No seriously, great playing. Awesome tone you're getting out of that guitar, gfs pickups a bastard strat body and an allparts neck. I'm sure some guys will weep in sorrow if they hear the tones you pull...

Re: It's official: I've sold out

I've bought the hd300 in november, since then i sold my pedals and my rocker 30. I only play at home and the HD with a monitor gives me all the tones i want at volumes neighbours can live with, haven't felt sorry that i sold the rocker and it's been 3 months now. If i would play in a band it would b...

Re: Just bought Rated R

.I would not call it better, it's just as good in a different way. Their first album is also great, regular john is such a dark song. Anyway i like all their work and i appreciate the way to stayed fresh over the years, every album has a different edge to it. This year is the first time in 5 years i...

Don't forget hofner, they make semi-hollows that are much better than the epiphone casino in the same price range.

Re: Ideas for solid state practice amp

My rocker 30 is gathering dust since i purchased a pod hd and a nearfield monitor.
The rocker 30's sound is superb but for low volume's the pod shines.

Not to spoil the thread but i've seen some horrible pics of the tribute series, really bad finnish and qc.
That said it's a great concept and i'm sure there are beauty's amongst them.
