tried it both ways...in the loop it boosted the volume but transfigured the tone ...cleaned it up, took away the soul, nfg...in front, with the gain up on amp, little to no effect.

i have a epiphone les paul...basic model, bought used for $100!! Awesome geetar! I have more expensive geetars, but this one, completely stock, is great....killer sound, plays well, no problems with workmanship....i play out in a sab tribute band and people always comment on my sound...rockerverb 50...

hi, two questions: one, seems to be a common quest-ion...what pedal to use for solos over a high-gain rockerverb head...Just a liitle volume and bite....tried the mxr micro amp, mxr 10 band eq, xotic boost pedals.... any ideas? perhaps an ibanez tube screamer? 2nd question: I've owned my head for on...

mxr micro boost?

i was using mxr micro amp...with crazy drivin gain, the pedal thru effects loop gave boost but took tone; in front, it does nothing.

needless to say, I too am in the market....need a boost for leads when in dirty channel....

hey, I play old sabbath...gain at 3 oclock, bass same, treb and mid at 12 oclock, reverb down around 9 oclock; volume up around 2 oclock....works for me :}

aye, metal, indeed! I tried (and was leaning toward) the mesa dual rec,or perhaps a laney, when, lo, the rockerverb 50 head and 4x12 cab DESTROYED them both. Gain isn't even maxed out, but killer distortion and FORGET about the thunder...mesa came close, but nuthin beats that sick chunk chugg chugg ...

so, thanks to all who recommended the mxr micro amp; tried one, bought one. Simply put, it simply does what it claims to do: give a volume boost without changing tone! Simple volume (gain) knob and foot switch. Love it when it's so simple.:D P.S. I run it thru the effects loop. Don't want nuthin' me...

so...again...just to clarify...my new rockerverb 50 head does not have a tube rectifier? and if not, what exactly does that do for me tone? (either way, this head KILLS!!!:twisted:
