Re: Orange Tiny Terror: building my own headcase

Looking good, was it tricky applying the tolex? nah, not that much. since i planned to apply corner protectors i did not have to pay that much attention to the corners as sloppy tolexwork there would be covered by the protectors. here's the result. i am very happy with it although i could not find ...

Re: Orange Tiny Terror: building my own headcase

Success! I unscrewed the back alu grill and bent it open just enough to get into the chassis with my finger to screw the handle into place.
My only worry is that the alu grille will only take a few bendings before breaking...

Re: Orange Tiny Terror: building my own headcase

I wondered about that, and it got me to thinking. What about removing a section of the back of the cage, to make it accessible to the tubes without removing the shell? Then, you could also get to the nuts to replace the handle, thru it. Seems a neat design, just needs a bit of tweaking! :) you mean...

Re: Orange Tiny Terror: building my own headcase

if you take the screws out, so the tops not attatched, it'll slide lower than when it's in its 'base' position. doing this, could you then thread the handle through? it would mean leaving the 2 screws that are in the sides off though.. i think the chassis would rattle and i doubt it would be low en...

Re: Orange Tiny Terror: building my own headcase

aaaah ... i made a mistake. only now i realized that i cannot screw on the handle with the tt chassis already in the wooden frame. and with the handle it can't be slipped into the frame. well, i will take another handle that i can screw from the outside rather than from the inside like the original ...

Re: Orange Tiny Terror: building my own headcase

You have some cool innovations over most that I've seen, as far as retaining the original handle and venting without a grill. Saves buying the handles and vents! Nicely done!!! yeah, i tried to keep it as simple as possible and as cheap as possible. no problem in "stealing" my ideas ;-) go on. yeah...

Orange Tiny Terror: building my own headcase

i bought my Orange Tiny Terror in 2007 and since it was my main amp. i always thought it sounded great but looked awful. only recently i came upon a thread here on the orange forum where someone build a headcase for it. that's what started it for me. i just changed the design a tiny bit. here some p...

Re: TT owners *and now DT owners too

wow! just discovered these beautifully headcases! well done. now i want to make one for my tiny terror. i have a white cab sitting underneath it, so i will cover my headcase with white tolex. a question about the cooling: would it be fine if i shrink my headcase to fit exactly the chassis of the TT,...

this may be asked before, but with what speakers to you get the best "orange" sound from TT? i have a 1x12 celestion vintage 30 cab and with my ric 330 it can be a bit sharp, not so with my epi casino. overall i am very happy with the sound, but i think maybe with some other speakers it could be bet...
