Finally! A simple rig that works!
Like everyone else on this forum I have been through multiple set-ups over the years trying to get the tone I want, well 20+ amps & to many pedals to count later I have a rig that is utter simplicity: PRS Custom 22 > Fulltone Wah > 65amp Colour Boost (rangemaster) > Orange Retro 50 Head > Orange 212...

Re: BIGGEST Gig Ever????
Probably it was for ~2500 people at a outdoor festival, it was fun but you really have to have your sound together or else you can't hear each other. I actually like to play in pubs with a crowd of 50-70 folks, seems like I connect better.

Re: Thinking About Getting a Class 5
I have the latest version of the Class 5 combo (low power mode) and in spite of some of the previous comments I find it very useful and gig worthy. I will agree that on it's own it is average sounding at times but I plug a treble booster (65amps colour boost) in front of my Class 5 an the tone is si...

Re: Speaker Suggestions for Retro 50
The Retro 50 (killer amp) does tend toward the darker tones so I found that mine sounds best with brighter speakers. I often use a Orange 212 with the Vintage 30's (good sound) but it really comes alive with a cabinet that has two Celestion Century neo speakers in it. YMMV (Also, sometimes I put a 6...

Re: RV50 MKI = Best Amplifier Ever.
I agree to all the above! I searched for over ten years and countless amps and when I plugged into the Rockerverb 50 MK1 I knew that was the one I had been looking for. I haven't tried the MK2 yet so I can't comment, I also have a Retro 50 but that is a different animal.

My Keeley modded Rat is very nice through my RV50, but the Fulltone Plimsoul is the best I've found.

Re: Update: green day cover show
I am also a big Green Day fan, we do a set of four of their hits, I like guitarists who can do a lot with simple chord arrangements. Orange amps can really dial in the Billy Joe sound, my TH30 just loves it when we do "Know your Enemy or "When I come around". I love three piece bands, because you ha...

Re: Thinking of becoming a 1 amp guy
I wish I could go with just one amp but I like different flavors. To me it would be like only eating one type of food everyday, I like to experiment and try different flavors. But if I had to I would probably go with my Rockerverb mark 1, still the most versatile amp on the planet. Hey Tango! Long t...

Re: New to the Orange Community - Just purchased a TH30 Head!!!
I've had my TH30 head for 2 months now and have found it to be a great gigging amp. I replaced the EL84's with new JJ's, and the preamp tubes with EH12AX7's, the amp is quiet and has more than enough power for all my needs. I'm considering trying a 5751 tube in the V1 of the lead channel to see if i...

Re: Its a good day!
Surgeon General Warning: Orange amps have been shown to have degenerative effects on bank accounts and over time will cause frequent users to have manic episodes where all they want to do is play their guitars for hours at a time. There is no known cure! The only hope is a support group known as OO...
