NAD - Selmer Treble+Bass 50SV

Hi all. Following on from my "Clean head on a budget" I thought I should post up the results. https://igcdn-photos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/t51.2885-15/11351663_853997467989378_1508631035_n.jpg Bought for £350 delivered, which is probably a little steep (in terms of market value) but the amp...

Re: Loud, clean head. On a budget.

I guess this is the downside of an old amp!

The upside is that once its fixed up, it should be more reliable than most newer amps, or at least easier to fix.

Re: Need some input...

Not used them in 20 years?

Move them on to someone who'll actually use them.

Re: Loud, clean head. On a budget.

I'm guessing it'll need a cap job, I think i'll find out tomorrow when we give it a try.

Anyone have any idea on a rough price for a cap job?

Re: NGD - Epi Sheraton - Tuning issues!

I think because the Guitar is best part of 30 years old, the old nut just was shot anyway. The grooves weren't fitting 10's or 11's correctly. 12's are amazing - I have them on my Mustang too. Nice and heavy! I pick it up after a week of not playing it now, and its still in tune. I can't get on huge...

Re: NGD - Epi Sheraton - Tuning issues!

Bumping another old thread of mine too.

I had the nut replaced and the frets levelled on the guitar and now it feels, sounds and plays perfectly with 12s.

£100 all-in, but worth every penny.

Re: Loud, clean head. On a budget.

Sorry to bump an old Thread, but I decided to sell my Vox and I bought an early 70's Selmer Treble and Bass. Thanks for all your input on this thread. I went for the Selmer partyly because I've never owned a Vintage Amp before, or a hand-wired amp. I also liked the fact that they were so easily fixa...

Re: Electric Shocks through the guitar/mic

The amp has a 3 prong plug - but I couldn't be sure if only 2 prongs are connected.

I have a foam windshield I use, but if I really press on it (which I do out of habit when I sing) I can still get a shock.

Time to test with another amp I suppose.

Re: Got myself a Super cheap $20 Analog Delay!!! Love it

I've been using the Artec "analog" delay for years. I love it! No modulation, but the repeats degrade nice and dirty and the box will oscillate really easily. It's really cool.

Electric Shocks through the guitar/mic

Hi all. My fender mustang is giving me shocks! If I lightly touch the strings with my forearm I can feel a tiny tingling (I don't notice it when I play though) and if I touch my lips to the microphone while touching the guitar, I get a pretty nasty shock. My tech-friend says the Mustang is grounded ...

Re: Custom build - Blackface amp with no trem or reverb

Thanks for the links. Marble Audio (China) seems too good to be true! Most kits however tend to be include things that I don't want - trem and reverb! (I actually do want these, but can live without them to reduce the price). I was hoping that someone would make a real simple 30watt blackface head t...

Custom build - Blackface amp with no trem or reverb

Hi all. In my eternal quest for a fender style amp I can afford (and looks good!) I was wondering if anyone knew if this was possible. Most fender-style builds try to emulate or copy famous amps, but I just want a great sounding, single-channel Fender amp-head, with no trem and no reverb and around ...

Re: Advice on a used amp -clone.

I think I'm going to skip it. 100 watts means even if I pull 2 tubes for 50 watts, it's still going to feel stiffer and harder than something with smaller transformers etc.

....unless at 1 minute to go it look like I can get it for £150!

Re: Vintage Fender Amps vs Hot Rod Deluxe

When it comes, just thrash it at full volume for a few hours.

If it's gonna fail, try to make it fail in the warranty period!
