I have thought the sounds on Zep I & II sounded suspiciously like an Orange Matamp head through 50 watt Fane speakers. I can nail those tones with one in any case.
Page was always very vague if not deceptive about how he got his sounds (understandibaly).

You might try this: make sure you go into the "lo" input on your orange which can handle a hotter signal. Turn the Volume down on the big muff as not to overdrive the input. Well my curiosity compelled me to put a DOD 250 overdrive in front of the Orange Matamp OR200 Slave amp this afternoon. You would be amazed at the sound it produced. Plenty of gain. You won't get much sound from a slave if you plug the guitar straight into it. You must have some sort of preamp that boosts the input signal to the slave amp.
