Cab Wiring Help

My Dad and I are building a couple of 2x12s before I start college again this fall. Got my supplies at Mojotone and they sell the same switches that Marshall uses to wire their stereo cabs. However, I completely forgot to order em, so now I have all the other supplies for the cabs but no switches. :...

OT: Can someone tell me the pinout?

Hey all, I'm converting an old Webcor reel to reel tape machine into a tape delay. It has a microphone input, but is so old that it doesn't use an XLR connector. Instead, it's got a 3 prong proprietary jack as pictured below in the drawing. Below is the schematic for the mic input - can someone with...

Wow, glad you're here to tell the story, and that things didn't end any worse. I hope the other guy makes a full recovery also, but man, I hope he's never allowed behind the wheel of a car again.

I think Fender/Orange rigs are where its at. With a few good guitars, it covers just about all the bases tone-wise IMO.

After I did take two out I still noticed a difference though. I don't run the amp loud. Right now it's my bedroom amp. I use my Bandmaster Reverb as my main amp. I have it with a matched cab. I used an 8 Ohm cab once and it didn't sound good at all You've got the BM reverb and the Super Six? That's...

I've mismatched fender amps numerous times and it really takes away from the tone.
aren't you supposed to double the impedance of your cab when pulling two of the tubes?

sesroh wrote:should also point out, on the back of the super six it says the output load is 5 ohms. It is really 4. so Get a 4 ohm cab. An 8 ohm cabinet will reduce the power but it will make the amp sound thin.
I was just thinking 8ohms for running at half power.

For that price you could get an Avatar cab, and I've heard very mixed reviews on the Line 6 cabs (some love them, but some hate them and have said anything through them sounds bad). I'd be careful about the Flextones. Neil, thanks for the tip. According to the ad, its actually 350 for both cabs and...

Very cool! How did you get ahold of a Super Six head? I've never seen that...one of my all time favorite Fender amps, but I would never lug a 6x10 around. Found it on craigslist for $400. Apparently someone agreed w/ you, that 6x10 is way too big, because it was cut down from a combo to a head. Not...

Thanks for all the replies so far, guys. Neil, I'll have to send Ted an email and see what he prescribes speaker wise. Also, is there a particular Eminence speaker you'd recommend? Sesroh, if one of the old Fender cabs with the JBLs came along on Craigslist, I'd be all over it, but I haven't had any...

I've pretty much decided that I want either a 2x10 or a 2x12, but I really have no idea what speakers to pair with a Fender. Since the head is 100w, I ne...
