Re: Speaker Recommendation(s)

Other speaker I am seriously thinking of putting in the R.30C is a Mesa MC90. Only thing making me hesitate is that they are too darn efficient. (Don't have a figure, but I'd estimate probably going on 2dB more than a G12H or V.30. One MC90 in a Mesa combo was markedly louder than the same amp thro...

Re: Some of the Knobs on my Orange Jiggle.

Mine had small set screws to hold them in place. I've had to tighten them on every Orange I've owned.

Just get a small jewelers screwdriver and tighten them down.

Re: How many of you don't own an Orange?

Are you waiting to get one or have you had one prior to now and are currently without? If the latter - why did you ditch your Orange? Just curious....... Currently without. Don't plan on buying another one. I was after the Orange sound an none of their current lineup of amps had it. If Orange made ...

Re: AD140HTC + no tube retainers or preamp covers??

The preamp covers Orange uses are super cheap and bend/deform in your hand as you remove them. Someone probably had their's fold in half on them and removed the rest of the cover so that they could at least see the socket when swapping preamp tubes. No idea on why they would've removed the power tub...

Sounds better with all it's tubes in it and the MV turned down.

My recommendation would be for an OR-80 or OR-120 (or the OD varients).

Re: Well, I no longer am an Orange amp owner......

The RV50 half stack has been traded away and I placed an order for something different. Have lots of good memories of that amp. Just not what I'm hearing as great tone anymore - too two-dimensional and maybe a bit dark. I did love it for a long time, though. I will miss her. :( Anyways, on to other...

Someone needs a cold beer and a time out from the internet... :P Fair's fair. I go through days like that too. In fact, I think I'm going through something similar in the V30 thread... only I edited my response 5 or 6 times trying to tone down my irritation so I didn't get another warning. I apprec...

1st Question; Am I going to require a mod.... or will the amp handle it with a simple bias? 2nd question; Will it up the headroom, or just modify the frequency response? In case you're wondering, I don't use the AD140 anymore as it's been supplanted by another amp. I do however require a bass amp, a...

Two 16 ohm cabs run in parallel combine for 8ohm.

There are two 8ohm jacks strategically placed on the back of the AD140.

Problem solved. ;)
