Re: NGD "Sheraton"
Nice guitar mate! I used to have a sheraton and it sounded amazing! The only issue I had with it was that it was a little neck heavy when using it with a strap standing up! Due to that HUGE headstock! looks good in natural too!

Re: strat wiring mod...
When i fitted Kinman's to my Strat I ordered them on the K7 harness, as well as being better quality than the fender wiring he also adds a mod to retain treble when the volume is turned down, and also makes tone 1 a master tone for all pickups and tone 2 a fader for the neck pickup! This setup gives...

Re: Marshall 1974x
Well, this amp has a tone to die for! I have noticed that the Normal channel has a kind of mid hump in the tone, this works really well with a strat bridge pickup (and middle) and the tremolo channel has a flatter eq overall, the neck pickup really shines with a beautiful woody-chimey gleam. The nic...

Re: Who likes
Nirvana where the reason I picked up a guitar in the first place! Love their music especially the lesser known stuff! I have to say though that I never really think about a particular tone when I think of Kurt cobains playing. I'm sure he would have enjoyed Orange though, just this afternoon I was p...

Re: pickup help?
I always really loved the T-Rex mudhoney pedal! It really let's your guitar and amp tone shine through. The next distortion pedal I get though will be a T-Rex moller 2, it does not have bags of distortion but it has a great mix knob and a built in boost!

Re: pickup help?
Hello mate, that's a whole lot of nice gear you have there! I just thought i would chime in with another pickup suggestion, I have not had personal experience with their humbuckers but I have the woodstock+ pickups in my Strat and I was blown away at how awesome they where, check out Kinman pickups!...

Re: pickup help?
Hello mate, congrats on the new guitar! You didn't mention it in your post but did you adjust the pickup height? Maybe dropping the treble side of the pickup will yield good results!
... Oh, and no pictures? Shame on you!

Re: Marshall 1974x
Well, it arrived yesterday and I have to say the tone is very nice, i can get the volume up to about 6 without breaking too many vases!! The only problem is that the footswitch does not work so I am going to have to wait for them to send a new one, hopefully it won't take too long. I will wait to gi...

Re: Marshall 1974x
Well after much deliberation I ordered a 1974x today! It will arrive on Wednesday so once I'm done blowing out all the windows in the living room I will post my thoughts! On a side note, I was going to order a t-Rex moller 2 but it was getting pretty expensive so I gave it a miss! Does anyone have a...

Re: Marshall 1974x
Hey LPL, I'm just outside SW London mate, as for usage, it will mainly be used for living room playing, we are lucky enough to live in a house with a large living room (also the house is detached) so I can crank it without any problems! Also I may gig it in the future but it depends how things go. I...

Re: Marshall 1974x
That is a nice amp, they are a bit hard to come by though! I am looking at the marshall because it is brand new (with warentee etc) and 18 watts of pure low gain tone (I should be able to crank it in the living room without the windows exploding!) and all through a nice greenback! P.S I also don't f...

Re: Marshall 1974x
Ha ha, yeah I wish Orange made a low watt, classic low gain 1x12 combo! (the tiny terror is not my kind of style!) however a single channel AD18 would go down nicely!!!

Re: NGD - Stratocaster Content
American standard strats can be a little shrill in the pickup department! I have Kinnman woodstock+ pickups in my American Deluxe strat and they really sing with a growl!

Marshall 1974x
Hi guys, Sorry about my long absence (its been a few years!) I am currently looking into buying a Marshall 1974x and was just wondering what sort of success people had with swapping out tubes and speakers and stuff like that! I never really experimented that much with my old AD30TC but I will probab...
