Blocking Trems

I've got an Ernie Ball Music Man JP6 and I've grown tired of the tuning issues that come along with the Wilkinson trem so I've made up my mind. I'm going to block it. Is there any specific type of wood I should use for the block? I'm kind of going for a little bit more sustain. Would a heavier wood ...

Power conditioners

Hey guys, I've got some questions about power conditioners. I was wondering if power conditioners had a big effect on the sound of amps. If they do make a big difference, what would it sound like? Also, would you advise me to get one? If so, which kind? (money isn't an issue. I'd like to get a nice ...

Re: Increasing volume/headroom on an 18 watt amp.

Would it be a better idea for me to just get a 4x12 and run that with my combo for the dirty channel and then get some kind of fender amp for the clean tone and just A/B box them?

Re: Increasing volume/headroom on an 18 watt amp.

Have you ever ran a power amp as a slave unit? I'm really interested in doing that.

Re: Increasing volume/headroom on an 18 watt amp.

Is there a way for me to get my amp to sound somewhere in the 50 or 60 watt range with the use of a slave power amp?

Increasing volume/headroom on an 18 watt amp.

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here in a LONG time because I've been really busy with school but I'm back=D. Anyways, since I was last here, I acquired an 18 watt combo that blows my mind but there's a problem. The clean breaks up VERY quickly and I want to use it in a band setting that requires a mu...

Watching out for tendonitis

I was practicing for about 3 earlier and I had to stop playing because I was feeling sharp pains in my arms. What can I do to take good care of myself so that I wont get these pains or seriously hurt myself so that I would have to stop playing guitar completely=[?

So about the door... What should I do about it? Stick with my idea of putting the foam pyramids on it? Oh and I'm totally gonna get one of those gramma boards. Thank you sooo much for telling me about those.

What's a "gramma board?" Also I wasn't thinking of playing my amp too much here at my house. I've got an awesome M audio black box that I could run through this good speaker system I just bought for home playing. My biggest concern is sound traveling in and out of my room because I have an EXTREMELY...

Soundproofing

Hey so I just moved into a new apartment and my door is absolutely terrible for noise. First off, it's REALLY thin and doesn't stop much noise. Second, it has about a 3/4 inch clearance on the bottom so it's like the door isn't even there. I was thinking about getting some of those foam pyramids to ...

It's true that the sound will have more attack and have a little more definition but your cleans will suffer quite a bit. If you value your clean channel more than your drive channel, don't do it.

Mark IVs are a very love/hate amp! Those who love them LOVE them and those who hate them...well...they're the guys who are scared of buttons and control knobs ;) *Runs for cover* The Mark IV is definitely a complicated amp but I think I'm getting used to it. I've been lurking on the Mesa fo...
