Re: Old beast I found...Orange Matamp ORST?

Oh! That thing has been under water judging by the top side of the chassis. The underside just looks like it’s been messed with. The labels on the controls basically aren’t wrong. 8)

Re: Reverb twin hustle is it a proto type

Leonardamp, are you an amp tech? What’s going on with this amp? We might be able to help you, but you have to be able to communicate what the problem is. There is every chance the amp you have will not match up exactly with the schematic, but there should be enough there to work with. Please give us...

Re: 1970 Orange hustle mt125 help

It’s always been zipped. No good reason for it. I just never got a request from someone who was tech-minded enough to work on amps but not tech minded enough to unzip a zip file. I guess those are two different disciplines, though.

Re: 1970 Orange hustle mt125 help

I got an email from Leonardamp today asking about the schematic. He said he couldn’t download the zip file. I replied telling him how to handle it and said he should let me know if he had any problems. Haven’t heard anything back.

Re: OR15 No Sound

Check the fuse again. If it is blown again, there is a problem with the amp that is making the fuse blow. Most likely a bad tube.

Re: 1979 Orange Dealer Pricing Catalog

this be very true... But, not near the same type of boards though correct? I feel like the boards in the old amps are just for a place to mount the components, they aren't like today's boards that actually send signals through them correct? Seems like they almost were PTP but just not as cleanly wi...

Fair point. But at least the Overdrive Series didn't have the valve sockets, input jacks, potentiometers, etc. mounted on the PCB. Overall much better build quality than today.
I get it. Partially ptp.

Re: 1979 Orange Dealer Pricing Catalog

Interesting. So putting those prices in today's perspective.... the Dollar/Pound exchange rate back then was 2:1 so double the price to convert to US dollars. Then multiply by 3.48 to adjust for inflation and you get the equivalent cost in today's dollars. That means back then you could get a hand ...

i think just a weekly or monthly 0-11-0 turn would work.. but your point is valid.. other than a small gain change for volume my knobs get little action.
This is basically what’s needed. It’s not that one needs to zero the pots, it’s that they need to be “exercised” once in a while.

Re: Rare Amps From The Early Days Of Orange Amplification

I’m kinda surprised at the state of some of those amps. My Pix Only (although not a plexi panel) and my Hustler are in better shape than those in the video.

Re: Orange Model RO 100? Serial Number 752

I’ve got bad news for you. The inside of that amp is not anything built by Orange at any stage of the game. I don’t know what all that is inside that amp, but that’s nothing like anything Orange has ever built! My guess is somebody got the chassis of a totally burned out amp and decide to repopulate...
