Re: What happens if your amp goes down mid-gig.....

Losing your amp mid gig is a guitarist's 'mare! Happened to me when I was using a vintage Peavey Deuce at a high profile gig. Mid song, blue flash out back of amp. Guitar totally dead. (Blown tube and fuse!)....Band had to 'Take a short break' while I raced to my van, drove 3 miles home, grabbed an ...

Re: LOOKING FOR A BACKUP HEAD

I gig with a Rocker 30 through a PPC 212 OB and so far it has never let me down, however a Peavey Deuce did back in the day and that was a disaster. Sooo....I carry a Micro Terror to every gig just in case. Sound is not anywhere near R30 territory but through the PPC212 those 20 watts carry a fair o...

Re: Rocker 30C help please

A Rocker 30 that sounds thin and tinny is definitely a sick rocker. I use the head and even through a PPC112 loaded with the standard Vintage30 driver it sounds pretty loud and dark, never thin and tinny. I would order up a full set of new tubes as a starter, thus eliminating that as the problem. If...

Re: Les Paul and R30 ....

Yeah got a pair of Bareknuckle Mules in my lester classic. They were in it when I bought it and no way I would change them out. Through my R30 head and 2x12 OB they just sing.

Re: Just tried the Rocker 32.

Interesting.....I wrote up a wee review on the R32 here a few weeks back and I passed on this amp too, mainly because it certainly is a much thinner sound than the R30 which I love. Just wasn't the tone monster I expected it to be. Pity, as the 32 has some useful features that the R30 doesn't have.....

Re: Rocker 30 in action

@ Norrin Radd, yes, this was a pro video job. The company were just starting out and wanted to film some bands for promo purposes and were offering it for about a tenth of their normal price so we jumped on it. They gave us a couple of the videos, but only discovered this one online just before I po...

Rocker 30 in action

Was mucking about on the web recently and came across this video of my old covers band, defunct this past 5 years. Moved on to new thing now with the the singer and the bassist in separate outfits, but this brings back some fun memories, so for your auditory delectation.......Old man playing his Str...

Re: Rocker 32

Thanks for the comments guys. I appreciate the harshness was probably due to speakers that need a bit of breaking in, and that I could have lived with. It was more the thin boxy sound that put me off springing the hefty price tag for the 32. I suspect it was the 2 x 10 configuration that was just a ...

Re: Rocker 32

Ah well, I went, I tried, and I walked out of the shop without a Rocker 32 which was a little disappointing! The package was everything I had hoped for, compact, lightweight, loud and built to the usual solid Orange quality standard......however....... My criteria for buying an amp is very simple. I...

Rocker 32

Hey guys. Not been on here in a while, hope yez are all still enjoying Orange coloured music! Just wondering if anyone has road tested the new Rocker 32 combo yet? My band is getting busier by the week and I am heartily sick of humping my R30 head and PPC212 from house to car, car to gig, gig to car...

Re: All My Pedals Are So Pretty :D (nice board on stage?)

I just keep it simple and lay my pedals to one side so punters have to get past me before they can lob their drink over my pedals or stomp on 'em. Who says you have to face the audience all the time? For on/off pedals it's just a quick shoe tap to one side, for Wah moments I am side on to the audien...

Re: Getting started with Orange Amps

Hi Rich, and welcome to the forum. There is so much in the Orange range, its probably best to state what you want from your rig. You say you are looking for a gigging stack, so what size of venue will you be playing? will you be mic'd up through a PA? what is your style? is portability an issue? How...

Re: PPC212OB: best cab ever?

+1 to all this. Originally had the PPC212CB but it was such a bulky and heavy beast to lug around, so traded it for the OB and oh yeah, a very fine cab. Perfect size and weight, and a massive sound with my R30 head, and sounds better and better the more I hammer those V30s. Congrats on the purchase!...
