Re: Orange Custom Shop 50 head
Great amp, but too loud for me, so I installed yellow jackets in it to make it work more like a 15 watt amp. Works great. First amp I have used without having the need for overdrive pedals. Sounds great all on it´s own. Just tweek the volume knob and you are in overdrive heaven I agree about the pe...

Re: Orange Custom Shop 50 head
Absolutely thrilled with this amp. Only had the briefest of plays so far and its incredible. Cannot wait to rehearse with the band on Saturday with this. I'm hoping to pick up a cab next month.

Orange Custom Shop 50 head
I am back playing in a band and my Fender 57 Deluxe & Orange AD15/10 (serial number 008) are just not cutting it. Decided to buy a Orange Custom Shop 50 head, which I have had major GAS ever since it was released at NAMM a few years back. It's due to arrive by courier on Monday, so I'll find a way o...

Re: ad15/12
I've got 008 (10 inch speaker) and 012 is on eBay now, though not in the best shape. Also talks about it being modded, so maybe that's where the hand wired comment comes from.
Love my AD15, really outstanding amp.

Re: Orange AD15/10
Found this posted on another site. He states it is Circa 1998. Serial number 012. Hand built in England. Looks like someones messed around with replacing the knobs. :? http://www.musicradar.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1742&d=1266780265 http://www.musicradar.com/forum/attachment.php?attachm...

Re: Orange AD15/10
Well that answers that question then. Definately the original valves.Sooner wrote:The original valves would have been a Chelmer rectifier, Sovtek pre-amp, and unbranded power valves (probably Sovtek too)

Re: Orange AD15/10
It is a great amp. Fitted a new rectifier tube yesterday, so it's now got a complete set of new valves, suspect the ones that were in it were the originals. The amp sings, incredibly dynamic and responsive. Thrilled with it.

Re: Orange AD15/10
Sooner, a few questions:
1. What was the original list price for the AD15?
2. Can you confirm the the 8 ohm speaker input is the one furthest from the choke?
3. How do you know there were only 8 prototypes?
Thanks for all the info.

Re: Who plays with two amps?
Me. Orange AD15/10 and Fender Deluxe. Both awesome amps, tend to use the Fender for clean and the Orange for the dirt. Use my Lehle Dual pedal for A/B/Y switching.
