Re: ALL GOOD THINGS....

Thanks Billy, it's been a good run. I think I joined back in 2005 or so myself. How long will this forum stay up now? Forever?

Re: Dual Dark "Booster"

I'd also like to echo the comment about the Boss GE-7...perfect clean boost that lets your amp sound like itself but with more tweaked gain and eq. However, based on your description, my first thought is that what you're describing is a compressor with the gain turned up a bit. The Maxon CP-101 is a...

Re: Sold my last orange...

Good I was planning on staying anyway. I just sold it because the DD wasn't the sound I was after anymore. Really, I need about 10 amps to get everything I like, but the Marshall is good for now. I need more money is the bottom line.

Sold my last orange...

I just sold my last Orange amp, the DD50 Head. Bought a Marshall SV20H with the money. I wish I could go back and re-buy my RV50C MKI..that was the best Orange ever for me. I'll still hang out here though, if it's ok.

Re: New Pedal day!

Yeah I've been on a long voyage to find the fuzz sound I'm after. Apart from spending my life savings on an original Sola Sound Tonebender MKII, this is as close as I've found. One day though, I'll find an original (or the one from Vox which is the same) at a garage sale or something.

New Pedal day!

I just got the Lovepedal Bonetender on Ebay. Looking forward to this to compliment my Hoof. Two different things. For those whoe don't know, the Bonetender is a take (reproduction with tweaks) on the Sola Sound Tonebender of yesteryear. Here's a great demo for anyone interested (mine is painted meta...

Re: New Amp... Rockerverb 50 MKi VS Rocker 30

I had the RV50C MKI, and I must say it's pretty unique. It has a 6V6 based power stage, and some of the best gain I've heard. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it also has a full-sized tube-driven reverb tank in there, which, while it has more verb than anyone can use, can also be brought down to...

I at one point had switched to the Tung Sols in mine, and I never looked back, that's how good they were.

Re: I tried to like Orange

I'd like to chime in here. You mention that you put your Orange back in the cupboard when you had decided it wasn't for you. Perhaps it wasn't for you because you have an amp that can fit in a cupboard. A Micro Crush or similar? In addition, Orange amps won't hide your sound, so if you suck as a gui...

Tubes/Valves for Dual Dark 50

Hey guys, My DD50 head is showing signs of tube failure. I have a guy gonna look at it to determine which one, But since I've never had to change a thing in about 3-4 years of running it on full-blast everyday with the attenuator on, I'm gonna say I might want to re-tube the whole thing. It seems to...

Looks very inviting. You now have the satisfaction of knowing what kind of room you'll most
likely need when and if you go out looking at homes. By the way, what is the ceiling height in this
particular room?

adkguy07
They're about 10 feet. 30 feet would be better. XD

Re: DIY Room Treatment Project...

This is going to be my January Project in our new house... What are the pre-made foam panels you are using? do you like them? Hi. The foam things are from Arrowzoom: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XYL4KFK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They're fine but keep in mind they only cut d...

Re: DIY Room Treatment Project...

nicely done, and looks great.. What RTA software and mic did you use, or did you just wing it?.. Finally done. Just have to block the top corners with something massive. Huge difference in imaging and focus. Just blocked some of the early reflections and followed best practices for getting a room r...
