Hi Andy I was actualy able to do a direct comparisson with my other Orange amp so it wasn't just from memory, even my wife could hardly tell the difference that the middle and treble controls made. I also possess an Ashdown pre-amp, a Trace Elliot 300 watt Head, a Line 6 Bass Pod XT pro and until re...

Dissapointed with an AD200 My local music store let me take out and try a brand new AD200 bass head, the store had ordered the amp for a customer who failed to show up. Having owned a Graphic 120 in the 70s and recently an OD 120 I was expecting something special, I can only assume that this ...

There are 12" speakers out there by the shed-load that will handle well over 150 watts. The days when you had to double the amp wattage in speaker wattage are long gone, in the 70s heyday of Orange voice coils were not anywhere near as reliable as they are now. Modern developemant in technology and ...

Hi Andy Thanks for the reply, the valves Matamp fitted are JJ telsa EL34s not E34Ls so maybe that's what I should be thinking of for re-valving. The two speaker cabs that I am using are a single 8ohm 300 watt 15" Neodymium magnet Fane and a 16ohm 2x10+horn top cab. Fane Neos are expensive but they d...

Hi Nick, Jeff Lewis (Matamp) actualy designed and built the amp so it was in the best hands possible his and Daves final touch after re-valving was to bias it and set evrything up to spec, what service.

Hi Not sure if I've already posted elsewhere, I took my Orange OD120 up to Matamp as Orange weren't really interested in helping me, the attitude at Matamp was totally different and extremely professional. The OD 120 was not a late 1970s but late 90s prototype than had somehow disappeared (someone w...
