Go to www.watfordvalves.com, give them a call, I have bought valves for my orange and 2 marshalls and the change has been notable (for the better). This guy really knows his stuff, and they have a massive selection from low gain / big headroom to stupid gain... Well worth a few quid!! Live and kickin'

If you feel around inside the amp (trace the speaker cable to where it leaves the amp casing) you will find it connects via a 1/4" jack plugged into a socket. Next to it is a second socket. I do not believe you should use them both at the same time, one is 8 ohm the second is 16 ohm (see the serial ...

Have a look at www.watfordvalves.com, They do reviews, and if in doubt phone them and have a chat...They know their stuff, and don't sell crap (but that doesn't necessarily mean it has to be expensive...

I have done a little more research, and found that despite having a nice pair of mullard valves in the power secion i hav sovtec 12AX7WA's which on independant testing are seen to be low gain, low quality, 3.50 a shot, suitable for cheap repair tubes. I have ordered some Ruby sepcials from www.watfo...

Take a look at the seymore duncan web-site, they have produced an effects pedal that increses the output from your guitar into the amp by up to 25db. They claim it can make a single coil strat sound like it has the balls of a humbucker laiden Les Paul. It is NOT a gain stage though, just an output b...

I own an Orange AD15/10 with non stock tubes (well the EL84's are a matched pair of mullards). I know little about amp electronics, and would like to know, what the rectifier tube actually does, and how it affects the sound of the amp. The pre-amp tubes are still stock, and i would appreciate any su...

I have a AD15, and set low (full gain, 1-2 master volume) it sounds really nice even in a bedroom in comparison with most solid state amps (i will never buy one of those again). I have not yet found a location where i can really crank it up, so i cannot comment on how loud it is, only that it is (if...

I recently bought/traded for an Orange AD15, It has been re-fitted with matched Mullard tubes, they really are superb, if a little hard to get hold of nowadays :). I have read some reviews and these tubes always seem to be used as a benchmark, but very little is said about the mullards themselves. D...
