Re: TH30 Amp Volume off, guitar still audible?

Thanks @bclaire, appreciate the reply.

Really loving the amp. I have money lined up for pedals but I want to buy some new pickups first. The alone is great and at home when I want some fun I have an old parametric eq and kurzweil rumour in a rack. Works well.

Cheers. JP

TH30 Amp Volume off, guitar still audible?

Hi guys, I must say I've been loving my TH30 I got a few months ago. I've been having some minor issues. Some I believe are related to my guitar, I think I've a grounding issue and I felt the bridge pickup isn't matching my neck. But I'm buying new ones anyway. So my question is when I'm on the dirt...

Re: TH30 valves damaged in shipment - can I fix this?

Update: Well guys I'm delighted to say the power tubes came and worked and was finally able to play the TH30 yesterday evening! I've gone ahead and ordered the remaining valves to have as backup since the insurance is covering it. The seller has been very helpful. So after all the drama a working am...

Re: TH30 valves damaged in shipment - can I fix this?

Yea pretty crappy story. So I'm hoping my tubes will arrive tomorrow, if not then Monday. I ordered the EL84s for now. I've since cleared the expenses with the seller and the preamp valves too - as northernguitarguy stated, it NEVER hurts to have a set even if I don't need them right now.

Re: TH30 valves damaged in shipment - can I fix this?

One last point, bits of broken glass have most likely gotten in between the speaker cone and speaker frame. Make sure you delicately inspect the speaker and Hoover up / remove any bits of glass as the could rip the cone, or make unwanted noises. I would totally remove the speaker to do that. By the...

Re: TH30 valves damaged in shipment - can I fix this?

Guys I really appreciate the replies. The guy who shipped it is apologetic and has asked me to send on the cost of the valves. I hope he/we can claim something off the insurance. I didn't realise valves are expensive. Looks like minimum €60-70 for a quad set. I'm in Ireland hence the euros.

Re: TH30 valves damaged in shipment - can I fix this?

While the amp can run on two valves, I wouldn't suggest only having only two installed as it really depends on how the circuitry is laid out for only two valves to operate. If I remember correctly from the schematic it's not a typical layout for an amp with 4 power valves. It's do-able, but need to...

TH30 valves damaged in shipment - can I fix this?

Hi guys, I just took delivery of a mint condition TH30. Well mint except for the fact the guy put the footswitch in the rear and it smashed up valves. I've attached images. It looks like two EL84s took the hit. All other values look to be in tact. This is my first valve amps so I'm very concerned ab...

Re: TH30 vs Rocker32

Mostly I do Creedence, Allman Bros, ZZ-Top, stuff like that. My TH30 likes it, me too. Of course it can do metal, but it's not a must, just keep the gain down, or crank the Clean channel for more classic gain tones. I also have to say that I don't play with particularly hot pickups, alnico 2 paf st...

Re: TH30 vs Rocker32

The TH30 doesn't have to be "metal" or "modern". If you keep the shape knob and the gain below 12:00 It's pretty much classic rock. It sounds like it's versatile so. Hmm food for thought. Turns out the only orange amp I can test out is a R32. I'll definitely try to get to play that but it's a pre-o...

Re: TH30 vs Rocker32

Here are my thoughts.. clean channel: The TH30 has a beautiful, and very loud, clean channel with eq. The R32 has a fixed clean/natural channel EQ which may need an eq pedal to get the tone you want. Dirty channel: The TH30 does indeed have more gain due to an extra gain stage and if by "more moder...

Re: TH30 vs Rocker32

I don't know where you are but there's no substitute for going to a dealer and trying a few out. The Th30 is the only orange amp I've tried in a dealers which I did n't particularly like but that would not of been at any decent volume. Do u own a guitar cab already? If so I'd consider the Rocker 15...

They're both going to sound like Orange amps. You have to figure out what features mean the most to you and go from there.
Fair enough, I can't argue with that. Sorry for the delay replying - many busy weeks of work.

TH30 vs Rocker32

Hi guys, I've been a lurker for a while and I'm saving for my first Orange it'll be my first amp since my old Valvestate 100 went bye bye years ago (I moved over to acoustic the last few years). I have seen the TH30 and the Rocker32 at roughly the same price (the TH30 being slightly cheaper). I'm aw...
