Re: Orange Amp choice for replace th30

Hi I have an th30 combo, I would replace for an Amp lighter I don't use the 30 w power The volume button is never higher than 2 and the sound is déjà very loud I use only clean sound with pedals Do you think the rocker 15w terror head is a good replacement,? I look for a good clean I already have a...

Re: What Made You Choose ORANGE?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyJU2136ym4 Just this! But, the first Orange I tried was a Rockerverb 50 (mk1). It was many years after the Oasis clip, but I was still in a indie-rock band. The Rockerverb had way more gain that I liked and needed, so I bought a Vox AC30 instead. Some year latter, m...

Re: Using The 7 Watt Side Of Terrors

I use mostly my Terror at home. I use it on the 7 watts mode, clean and quiet (I live in a appartment). I use a overdrive if I need some dirt. Honestly, it's not the best way to use the TT, but I dont want to buy another amp, since it get the job done. The 15 watts setting sound better, even at mode...

Re: Bass knob on a AD30tch

Update... The problem was my OD. After some test, the best way to achieve a clean, dirty and solo sounds is to use the channel 1 for my dirty sound and put a low-gain pre-amp in front to clean the sound. It's not the better sound out there, but since I play 95% of my time with crunch, I can live wi...

My Rocker 15 Terror has a 'Headroom/Bedroom' power scaling feature. Takes it from 15/7W down to 1/0.5W. I tried to A/B it with a Bad Cat Unleash attenuator and preferred the Bedroom setting, by far.
Exactly!!

The Rocker 15 is a great and silent amp!

Re: 7w/15w, what's the difference?

In tearm of perceived volume, there is not big diffence. At home, even in 7 watts, my TT is quite loud and a use a Boss FBM-1 (or a SD-1) with the volume lower to not bother the neighbors.

Re: Bass knob on a AD30tch

A little extreme maybe but not too usual it has a lot of bass I usually keep my bass control about 10 o'clock....another thing is the volume your using it needs to be wound up to sound at its best. I think it's part of the answer. I dont play with AD30 very loud. A 15 watts is normally ok with this...

Re: Bass knob on a AD30tch

The PPC410 has 4*G10N40, right? Those aren't bass heavy speakers. If you bought it used, I'd recommend a new set of EL84. I mean inspect it of you can - if you find the EL84 plates have black marks on them, it's probably time for a new set. Modern EL84 have an extremely poor life span of around 500...

Re: Bass knob on a AD30tch

Hey all, Am I the only one who play my AD30 with the bass knob at 3 and thinking about putting it to 1? I have never played a amp with tha amount of bass! It depends in guitar and overall set up really. How long have you had your amp? Worn valves can loosen up the overall tonal definition, resultin...

Re: The ultimate Orange lunchbox amp comparison! (7 amps)

Really nice comparison.

The Tiny Terror is still a benchmark! I am sure they are gonna reissue it someday. I also quite like de Jim Root, and I am not even a hard rock/metal player.

Re: Ad30 Tube and Speaker Change Questions

Even when paired with a 30w speaker? It's not the wattage rating of the other speaker that matters, it's how many watts are going through the Alnico Blue which has a 15 watt capacity. Assuming both speakers are the same resistance the Blue will get half of the power so 15 watts when your AD30 is ma...

Re: What happens if your amp goes down mid-gig.....

Thanks, like the idea, appreciating its a ‘get me to the end of the gig’ situation, how does the micro terror stand out? Is it loud enough and will cut through the mix? Loud enough is subjective. For certain music style/band/guitarist, a 10 watts tube amp is enough; for other, they need 100 watts. ...

Re: I want an Ad30

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Tremlord is a 1 gain stage amp, the AD30 is a 2 gain stage amp, the Rocker is a 3 gain stage amp and the Rockerverb and TH30 are 4 gain stage amp. I have a Ad30 and it feel alot like a Vox30 on steroid with the low-mid Orange sound. The tube rectifier helps it sound...
