Re: Sovtek Long Plate PI
here is what i read... Cathode followers are used primarily as tone stack drivers and depending on how they are set up, also contribute to the tone. They also can be used as a type of cathodyne Phase inverter, typical on Orange amps and some of the Peavey Classic 50 designs. Basically Cathodes on pr...

Re: Orange TH 30 switch on issues
do you have a foot switch to use on the amp. maybe if you plug one of them in you can put it back in the proper cycle.

Sovtek Long Plate PI
has anyone had any issues putting a sovtek long plate in their PI i read somewhere its not recommended in a cathode biased amp. i am using one in my TH30, and i really like the improved tone. I got JJs in the rest of my preamp section. It sounds great as long as it doesnt decrease the tube life of t...

Re: Rocker 32 Dirty Channel Volume Issue
i dunno i have my cleans at 9 oclock, dirty is always up around 1 oclock. And the volumes work well together. Mines a th30 but maybe you gotta turn up that volume on the dirty channel, these amps with el84s dont sound good without the volume up half way. ifs thats too loud put it into half power mode.

Re: Dual Terror, reducing feedback at high gain?
Id try a tungsol in your v1, on the clean channel. They are lower noise and and a clearer and crisper sound. if that dont help id replace the power tubes. Tubes that are starting to go with make unwanted noise at higher volumes.

Boss gt-10/gt-100 channel switching
I just want to let everyone know these boss multi effects work for channel switching. You just have to turn the amp control on. The 4 cable method will not work though, you gotta directly plug into the boss then into the amp. With the effects loop, there is a huge volume drop and its not worth the e...

Ended up buying all new power tubes and I bought a PI and clean channel pre amp tube. All JJ’s killer deal on amazon.

The Dirty channel is fine no rattles, it did have a hum with distortion past 6, put new preamp tubes in the dirty channel problem fixed. It was all original tubes. Im guessing ...

Midi pedalboard/footswitching?????
What is everyone with orange amps doing to enable midi channel switching on a pedalboard. I sold my dark terror a year ago been playing through an evh 5153 , with midi, a feature i cannot live without anymore. I really loved the disortion on my dark terror but no clean channel, i needed that. I just...

Re: Dual Terror, High gain settings, Help
Was thinking of trading my dark terror for a dual Terror ( someone was open to it, plus a bit of cash) but then I just realized the dual terror has tone controls not shape controls I need to be able to scoop my mids a bit.
I can’t work with a treble bleed tone control, that really sucks!!!!

Dual Terror, High gain settings, Help
Looking for the most gain I can get out of this amp. My understanding is the half power switch runs the power tubes hotter for earlier tube breakup/less headroom. In the 15w mode there in only 1 preamp tube. In the 30w mode it’s using 2 preamp tubes. (Not counting the PI) I also feel the fat channel...

Re: 12” VOTW speaker, let’s solve the mystery of what it really is!
No real markings there was a c1309 in the speaker magnet. It looks like a warehouse veteran 30, same cone colour and casing colour. Yellow coils on the front of the magnet just like a veteran 30 too. Specs are pretty close too. Says 10lbs weight, I weighed it in at 9.8lbs Maybe they round up to 10 D...
