Never seen that gif before! ha ha ha

I don't remember if Orange goes to Summer NAMM - it's not as big as Winter NAMM, right?
Correct. Summer NAMM is considerably smaller and you very rarely get big news coming out of it.

Re: Summer NAMM?

Fender unveiled an amp beginning of May last year, vox announced an amp in September of last year. Nace Amps announced an amp in October 2015. I totally understand that you are anxious to see what orange has up it’s sleeves or if there is anything at all. I share in that as well not because I am in...

Re: Summer NAMM?

I just don’t follow this... is there some unspoken rule that people only buy amps at the beginning of the year? Do people not buy amps in the summer? Or the fall? People have been waiting until the beginning months of 2018 to buy amps and surely no one will be left to sell amps to later in the year...

Re: Summer NAMM?

Billy definately said something good was coming..... He probably meant those 15 watt amps they just released haha. Besides, why on earth would you wait so long into the year when everyone else has either released or announced their new amps? Most people looking to buy a new amp this year have alrea...

Summer NAMM?

NAMM has passed and now Musikmese is about over as well and still nothing from Orange on any 50th anniversary amps as we move into summer...Have they ever announced anything major at Summer NAMM? Thats the last shot for all of us hoping for some 50th anniversary releases/re-releases

Re: Amp timeline before your Orange

Ive owned a ton in both head/cab form and combos. Fender, Marshall, Vox, Blackstar, Peavey...I dont believe in only owning just one brand, too many great amps out there to limit myself. Oranges I had and sold were the Micro Terror, Dark Terror, OR15, Rocker 30 and Rockerverb 50 MKI. Moved on to bigg...

I recently sold my JCM 800 for $300 less than how much I paid for my mkiii 100 rockerverb
How much was that and which model 800? 2203s tend to be stupidly overpriced recently because its considered the best marshall in the past several decades. 900s are way less and 2000s are dirt cheap.

Re: Are Orange Amps getting it right????

Yes, they are getting it right. Very right. Because when everyone else around me sounds the same on Marshalls, Mesas and EVHs, I rock on Orange Rockerverb MK1 which not only looks cool as hell, but also has a very distinctive sound. I rarely see anyone playing EVHs or even Mesas around here but I d...

Man I hope they release another couple of 15 watt lunchbox amps at Musikmesse. Maybe a 5 watt combo with a neo 8” speaker for grab and go gigs.
I sense the sarcasm. Well played.

Re: Are Orange Amps getting it right????

My wager is that Musikmesse will bring a 50th anniversary OR50 with some crazy paint schemes and an effects loop.... the chasis certainly can handle it and I'm fairly certain the circuit doesn't pose any native challenges to adding it into the path either. I should have made a bet with you because ...

Re: Are Orange Amps getting it right????

100 watt heads switchable down to lower wattage are still expensive and someone who doesn't need 100 watts isn't going to pay that price. Only a small number of people really need a 100 watt amp and thats exactly why they didn't sell and were discontinued. A 100 watt head around $2k and a 50 watt he...

Re: Are Orange Amps getting it right????

Orange has NEVER had the width of product offering that M*rshall or some of the others had... They have quite a few actually, its just that 80% of them are either solid state or 15 watts. I mean come on, the line with the biggest selection in wattage are their SS practice amps. A bit ridiculous IMO...

Re: Crush Pro 120 tone question

Also, I was wondering if there was a big tonal difference between the open back and closed back Orange 2x12s? Is the closed back worth the additional money? Ive had both the CB and OB and yes, there is a big difference. OB is better for everything up to classic rock IMO. CB is better for everything...

Re: Crush Pro 120 tone question

Lunchbox is right, those G12s dont sound right with the 120. I didn't like how my CR120 sounded even with my Orange 2x12 after awhile. I also play an SG Standard loaded with '57 Classics. I know you probably dont want to switch cabs and guitars but FWIW, I played my friends CR120 thru his Orange 2x1...
