Re: Ade: what's your ultimate NOS tube setup for R30 and Terror amps?
When I had a Tiny Terror, I tried out NOS Sylvania and Mullard EL84s. Believe it or not, I actually preferred the new Genalex Gold Lions by a wide margin. I have a quad of those in my AD30, with NOS GE 12ax7s and GZ34.

Re: PPC112 Speaker Swap
Resurrecting this thread. Has anybody put a WGS Reaper HP in their PPC112? I'm looking at a good deal on one and I'm curious to try it. I still have the stock V30 in mine, but I've never really bonded with it. It sounds great in a live setting, but most of what I do is low to mid volume studio work ...

Re: PPC112 Speaker Swap
Thanks for the detailed reply! I have been using the G12H in the Egnater cab. I never get close to diming it, so I wasn't worried about the wattage. I tried a Greenback, a Creamback and an Alnico Gold in the Egnater, and I kept coming back to the G12H! I really love how it sounds. I'm thinking about...

PPC112 Speaker Swap
I just bought a used PPC112 for my AD30 single channel head. I'm thinking about swapping out the stock V30 and I'm really partial to Celestion G12H30 anniversary speakers with this amp. Right now I have one in an open back Egnater 112. Has anybody put a G12H30 in a PPC112? How does it sound in an cl...

Re: Celestion Alnico Gold Wire Connectors
I got one side soldered, and I just wrapped the other side because the hook was bent and I couldn't get in there with the iron. I plugged it in and it seems fine. I'll take it to a speaker shop soon and have them fix it up proper. Thanks for the advice!

Re: Celestion Alnico Gold Wire Connectors
Yeah, this one is ten years old. I saw some of those threads about the complaints. I went and bought a little 4.5 watt battery powered soldering iron. I'm going to give it a shot. If I screw it up, I know a speaker guy that could fix it for me in a few minutes. I was going to AB this with another 1x...

Re: Celestion Alnico Gold Wire Connectors
Yeah, I might just take it to someone who knows what they're doing. I can't afford to do this incorrectly. I wish I had known that it didn't have tab connectors when I bought it.

Re: Celestion Alnico Gold Wire Connectors
When you say pivot the wire, do you mean fold it back in on itself when it's through the hole in the hook? That's what I was thinking to get it to stay on while I'm soldering it.

Re: Celestion Alnico Gold Wire Connectors
Well, I've been meaning to buy a soldering kit, so I guess this is the kick in the ass I need.

Celestion Alnico Gold Wire Connectors
I bought a used 12" Alnico Gold for my Egnater Tweaker cabinet and AD30 head. I went to install it and noticed that it has weird hook shaped wire connectors, instead of tabs. I'm wondering if I need to cut the wires and solder them to these, or can I just hook the clips to the hooks like in the phot...

Re: AD30 RF Interference
I don't know if I'm near a transmitter. I just moved a couple of weeks ago, but this was an issue in my old house as well.

Re: AD30 RF Interference
I put the tube shields back on, and plugged the amp into a Furman power conditioner. I still have really loud RF interference. I tried using both a 10' and 20' cable, and it was the same.
