Re: Tonight my AD30 HTC sounded....... Great!

OK recently I've been very lazy ..... The last few gigs I've done I've taken the Rocker 15 terror... Sounded good, used the effects loop, job done but for no particular reason as I bought it for a backup, apart from it was a lot lighter .. Yep definitely lazy, but tonight I took my Ad30htc No effec...

Re: New To Orange/Need Advice

Hello all, I just bought my first tube amp, it’s an Orange Tiny Terror paired with an Orange PPC212CB. I’m looking to find some settings that can provide me a modern pop punk tone (not like Blink-182/Green Day) but more like bands; such as, Knuckle Puck and Neck Deep. As far as guitar goes, I have ...

Re: What is your first weapon of choice with Orange Amps?

At this point in time, one of my Fender Joe Strummer Tribute Telecasters is my main guitar, followed by my Duesenbergs, then my Gibson Johnny A., etc. I pull out a Dan Armstrong, Les Paul, and SG from time to time. But I could do the whole night with one of the Strummer Teles.... http://www.thealle...

What is your first weapon of choice with Orange Amps?

I've never really discused that topic here, but I'm really curious what is your fav guitar to plug into Orange Amps? I love my 92' Mexican Strat with Hot Rails set into Orange Rockerverb MK1 - on dirty channel it just sounds so damn heavy and punchy, sits really great in the mix plus retains great n...

Re: NPD: Late 70s MXR M117 Flanger

Promised update! Internal transformer and AC cord have been removed. My tech also installed a voltage protection diode, because the original M117 did not have that. Now pedal accepts everything between 15-18v just like reissue. All other components were checked and measured and they are in wery good...

Re: I'm not totally happy with my live / monitor sound

OK, so a little update. Our sound guys says that "You hear (on wedges and FOH) what you give from amp" and I really can't agree with that. It is funny how some people try to bring us down, isn't it? Yesterday it took me 10 minutes to mic my tiny terror with PPC412 and get a wonderful tone that blew ...

Re: Orange TH30 problems: No sound, turns on, details inside

Hello, I've run into a problem with my TH30. It makes no sound whatsoever. No crackle, no hum (like it usually does a little), absolutely nothing. To set the scene: I was at rehearsal, everything worked fine. We took a rather long break, so I turned it off. We came back (it was completely cooled do...

Re: Different Technique With Orange Amps?

I've never paid so much attention to (and thought about) playing technique as I have since I've been using my one and only tube amp; an Orange Dark Terror. I'm of the opinion that the simpler the chords and intervals I choose, the better the tone from this amp. I set the gain and volume to produce ...

Re: I tried to like Orange

Jondog, my question was not intended as arrogant but simply an honest question. How you choose to interpret my question is your responsibility. Back to my point, the honeymoon period was soon over for me, I am not remotely bitter about this, instead, I have learnt something, which is always useful....

Re: I tried to like Orange

Not sure if this is bait, but hell, I'll give it a try. I hate to point of the obvious, but some people like certain things, sounds, tones, movies, tastes and the list goes on and on. You are not into Orange amps - it's okay, they're not voiced for everyone. Good for you there are tons of other bran...

Re: NPD: Late 70s MXR M117 Flanger

Practically, what do you think you prefer? That vintage unit, or the more modern versions? That's a good question. The old one is definatelly more mellow and subtle. Its chorus tone is just outstanding, even better that any CE-2 I had. Somehow I can't get 100% Eddie Van Halen flanging from "Unchain...

Re: More Gain From Orange Rocker 15 Terror

Well, industry standard for that purpose is putting a tubescreamer as a front-end boost. Level maxed, drive dimmed, tone to the taste and that will give you definately more gain, punch, body and midrange. Keep in mind that also it will cut some low end. There are many tubescreamer-esque pedal on th...

Re: NPD: Late 70s MXR M117 Flanger

I've never had one...... but I can't see your pic!!!! Can't the footswitch simply be tightened? I have no idea if the price you paid reflects the road worn state, but be aware that any mod will devalue it compared to untouched fully working units. For myself, I'm all for functionality, so your inte...
