Re: Best Orange for good tone at low volumes?

I have a Rocker 15 Combo and agree it sounds pretty amazing at low volume. However I would say the dirty channel if it has enough gain definitely doesn't sound quite as good if the amp is set to 0.5W. As soon as you get to 1W it sounds amazing though. On 0.5W I might say the clean channel + a tube ...

Re: Talk to me about Orange Clean Tones

I spent sometime with my Dark Terror today and just used the neck pickup by itself with the amp set for a slightly crunchy tone. This allows me a crisp sounding clean from the neck Burstbucker I pickup and from the bridge Burstbucker 2, that recognizable crunchy Orange tone. It's definitely not a F...

Re: Talk to me about Orange Clean Tones

I've got a Rocker 15 Combo and am very happy with the cleans on the natural channel. At least in the case of the Oranges with a natural channel with no EQ the clean sound is going to be very revealing in terms of: - Do your pickups sound good clean? - Are your pickups adjusted well? - Is your playin...

Re: Boss RC300 Looper in the FX Loop settings?

I don't have an RC-300 but I use a Beat Buddy Mini + Ditto Looper in the FX loop of my Rocker 15. You are on the right track here. 1) Yes, the FX loop is the right place for the RC-300 unless you were never going to use amp distortion. 2) I doubt you will damage your speakers. Keep the volume reason...

Re: Any using a Wampler Tumnus ?

I have a Tumnus Deluxe and I am not that crazy about it. It works OK on the dirty channel of my Rocker 15 but not very well on the natural channel. If I'm going to use a pedal like that I'd rather it work well on both. The thing is the dirty channel does not need a particularly fancy OD to work with...

Re: Opinions on Orange amps

Yah I mean really, this is an Orange forum, the only opinion here is that the amps are awesome. :D

I've had my Rocker 15 a little over 2 years now and I still feel like I need to pinch myself sometimes.

Re: Opinions on Orange amps

We have a Line 6 Spider III in our "jam room" at the office and I have used the Crush 35 in practice rooms. No question the Crush 35RT sounds hugely better. It is way less fiddly and annoying too. You turn the knobs and the amp settings reflect the positions of the knobs and do not change until you ...

Re: OR15 Better with Zero Pedals?

The Oceans 11 is a tone sucker... it got so much press and awards cause it's got a zillion features. But it doesn't have an analog dry path.. it is digitizing your dry signal and then re converting it to analog. A lot of the other top quality reverbs don't do this, they split the analog signal and s...

Re: Orange Rocker 15 combo + Mooer Red Truck or single pedals?

If you can try it all with the right amp & guitar than your opinion will be more important than anything we say.

I know for my case though even when I've tried stuff in the store with a Rocker 15 and my guitar I get it home and eventually say "What was I thinking?"...

Re: Orange Rocker 15 combo + Mooer Red Truck or single pedals?

You can get delay/chorus/vibrato with one of the EHX style pedals, memory man/memory boy family. Memory Boy is < $100 and is amazing, you could add a cheap/used reverb & boost as well and stay pretty cheap. Personally I would not buy the Red Truck for myself without being able to try it locally with...

Re: Orange Rocker 15 combo + Mooer Red Truck or single pedals?

Personally I'd be wary. You're buying a $250 multi-pedal setup from a bargain basement brand. I think that's a little different than trying one of the single-effect Mooer pedals which are quite cheap. You might be better off starting with one thing at a time and just delaying getting some of the ped...

Some Rocker 15 Pictures...

I haven't seen these anywhere on the web yet so I took some. The Rocker 32 pictures seem to be much easier to find and someone has already done the work to document which tubes are where. I changed my V1 tube this week after talking to Darron at Orange, he told me which one it was so I didn't have t...

Re: Rocker 15 Natural Channel + Pedals question...

Yah the static on my volume knob has interesting behavior. 1. Turn the amp on to standby. 2. Set it to half/full power 3. Turn the knob... you'll get static. Keep turning it back and forth 3-4 times. Static goes away. 4. Put the amp back on standby 5. Take it off standby, static will be back, but ag...

Re: Rocker 15 Natural Channel + Pedals question...

I swapped my V1 tube last night. I put in an EHX tube. Fairly arbitrary what I ordered, I don't know if I believe much of the stuff on the internet about what different tubes sound like. In any case the Natural Channel sounds a little different with the new tube. I don't know if the old one was just...
