Hello! Just out of curiousity: any experiences what tubes have what effect on an OD120? More gain? Tighter? More headroom? Anyone tried KT88?

Hey guys, I've got a question. I'm playing an OD120 and recently paired it with an JCM800 50 Watts from 1989. And that thing was loud! I got to 1 on the master, gain on 1 o'clock. The Orange was on 3 o'clock (!) at the same volume. Is there something wrong with my Orange? That thing has 120 Watts! A...

Does that work? I tried that with the Paul Gilbert Detox Pedal but couldnt get it to clean or light crunch without a big volume drop.
