Re: Strat or Tele :)

I love Tele's, but I'd say if you go with a 52 re-issue, be careful. In my experience (limited, but I've had a few Tele's nevertheless), the 52's are the best sounding Tele's I've heard and by far. Fantastic. BUT, I could not ever get used to their thin vintage frets. Especially for lead work. Painf...

So... I purchased the amp. I had been waiting for a very clean single channel AD30 head for a long time. The price was dropped by the seller a bit earlier today (and price changed to Canadian dollars).

Get a MXR Micro amp and boost the tele signal so it is closer to the output of the LP and everything will work better. The Microamp is fairly cheap from Musicians Friend. Or maybe the MXR 6 band EQ. This way I could adjust the EQ for the LP on the amp and just turn on the MXR to adjust both the gai...

Noisy MXR Carbon copy ?

I like this delay, and usualy uses it using very low settings.

Now, just started using it with higher settings ( for example Mix at 3:00, delay at 3:00, regen at 12:00) and it produces a pretty loud hiss noise at every repeat. Annoying. Is this normal?

The '52s are the best souding tele I've played with. But, I could not stand their small vintage frets. They are a pain.

Saw him 3 weeks ago in Montreal. It was a good, solid performance.

He's 65 now and he looks like 85. I am not exaggerating. 85 minimum. He can hardly walk by himself.

Brighter tubes - AD30TC

More and more, I use my LesPaul with BB Pro as my main guitar to play classic rock. On the AD30, it's quite dark. I often use a clean boost (unity gain) with a very treble'd EQ to correct that. Treble booster type thing. Works pretty well. I would not mind a bit more treble right from the AD30. What...

This is a fairly rare thing I understand. I once met a kid who was. He was one of the students of my daugther's piano teacher. He (the teacher) made a little demonstration in front of us. He would play ANY note on the piano randomly, and the 5 years old kid would tell him right away, without any hes...

It's a great pedal !!! This thing with my Les Paul and AD30 (on a clean channel though) is amazing.

Man, I love my LP more than ever.

They are quite different pedals. The VL is a much more transparent, low profile OD to me. A good product that I used for a while to provide a very light crunch (now replaced by an AnalogMan King Of Tone). I had mixed feelings about the DD. I ended-up selling it. Very good for the price though.

I hate to say it, but 4 years ago when we went to see him at HOB Cambridge, it was one of the worst shows I've ever seen and embarassing. He couldn't play- the band played to his beat- I think he was either f'd up or stone deaf. It was truly awful... and we left in the middle of it. Oh boy... scarr...
