NAD (non Orange content o_o)
As much as I love my CR120H, I have been craving a secondary amp, as well as a mod platform, and a member on another forum asked if I had any non Orange/non solid state amps in my future. (I always recommend them over there). I got to thinking, and ordered myself a Jet City 100 LTD. 100 watt, EL34 o...

Re: I’m done with Tube Screamer clones
Can't really beat the classics. I prefer the Boss SD1 over a TS9, very similar (almost the exact same circuit as mentioned), but the Boss is a bit more raw sounding with my rig, and a whole lot cheaper! The rawness works for the heavier styles I play.
Glad you found one that works for you!

Re: Crush Pro users, what clean boosts you running?
Been doing some more tonal experimentation. Using my spark as a slight (less than a TS/SD1) mid bump/bass cut with max boost, I can kick on my SD1 for a nice lead boost in front of it. Kicking the spark in the ass end turns this simple 2 channel amp into a "6 channel" gain monster. Using a passive v...

Re: Finally managed to try out a CR120....
Try a clean boost into the clean channel. Works for me! Got a good crunch out of it with a TC Spark Booster. Its a lot brighter than the gain channel that way.

Re: Crush Pro users, what clean boosts you running?
I've been running an overdrive in front of this since I bought it without issue. Wanted a clean boost for a "more" switch. It works well.

Re: Crush Pro users, what clean boosts you running?
Reviving my thread lol. Completely forgot I posted it. Orange customer service suggested not to boost, but wouldn't say why. So I dun it anyway! Running a tc 4 knob spark booster at full tilt, gain up and volume up, can make clip hard. Bright, but not too disgustingly. Gain down, or up a hair and vo...

Re: DEFINITIVE ORANGE GUIDE TO: Overdrive/Boost/Dist/Fuzz Pedals
Figured I would update as I found something I like very much. WHICH ORANGE AMP DO YOU USE? CR120H through a British style 2x12 cab. WHICH OVERDRIVE PEDALS WORK BEST FOR YOU? TC Electronics Spark Booster (4 knob) and a Boss SD-1 in front for solo boost. Home built "underdrive" for low gain. Still boo...

Re: Crush Pro users, what clean boosts you running?
Exactly where I am sitting! How much is too much, right? Google has been no help for me, but I did send an email to orange yesterday to see if I can get even a hint of what these amps can handle. So far things are getting real grindy and bright, though it may be the compression from all the dirt bei...

Crush Pro users, what clean boosts you running?
Been searching for a "more button" of a boost for my CR120H and so far have got an EHX Crayon on my board as it has more output than my SD1. But I cannot tell of its adding sparkle or just overloading the preamp beyond what it takes to clip. It isn't rediculously harsh like testing in front of my ol...

Re: Delay that works in CR120H fx loop
Is your problem solved then? The issue was caused by your preventative solution? As far as FX, build your board with the FX you want, and deal with issues if any arise. In terms of noise, making sure that the FX power supplies cables aren't looped, and aren't crossing the path of the guitar + FX lo...

Re: Delay that works in CR120H fx loop
The noise gate should be run with the 4 cable method, but doing so causes issues.
As for the od in the loop, it also being boss, I was just seeing of it would over load like the gate.

Re: Delay that works in CR120H fx loop
Never mind. The NS-2 loop just sucks. Can't handle anything louder than my overdrive.
I puy my od in the loop and played through the clean channel. No issue. Played of straight in to the fx return. Sounded the same. Od is a boss SD1.
Should be fine on delays.

Yeah. I think it is set up different. Not really any spec to look at though. Probably gonna send an e-mail to Orange and see if I get any info.

Delay that works in CR120H fx loop
Finally looking to start building up my pedal collection, but after a year and a half with my crush, I noticed one big downfall... With the channel volume over half (has to be because I like the crunchy clean) the fx send is HOT! Can't run my gate there because it overloads and sounds like poo. Know...

That's the same sound as mine. I've grown used to it. Still looking for a fix.
