Re: Fuzz roundup

I use a Band Of Gypsies mini. It plays very nicely with my amps. What is your setup ? Ive been intrigued by those mini fuzz faces for a while! definitely cant justify another fuzz but down the line when the dust settles    I have a TH30 and an OR15. It works well with both of them. I...

Re: The Orange Sound

I love all Orange amps. They all share the same DNA. Just find one with the features you want. My TH30 is still the best piece of gear I've ever had. I think the OR15 is great fun, but it's a different playing experience. I'll never part with either one of those amps.

Cool! I think you've got it covered at this point. BTW, I got my info from the Orange site, so it should be spot on.

Re: Orange Amps Tube Layout Guide

V1 will be the closest to the input. V2 will be next to that. The PI will probably be located in front of those tubes.V1 is gain, V2 powers the tremelo, the 2 12at7s are for the loop and reverb, the last one is the PI. You should be able to suss it out pretty easily.

A Tremlord would certainly be different.

Re: A speaker phenomena

Bigger box, more surface/sound spread area with the 2x12. That's pretty much what I was thinking. The nature of the beast. A little eq tweak takes care of it, but the internal speaker is never going to sound the same as a multispeaker cab. I'm wondering if it's because the TH30 is almost a closed b...

A speaker phenomena

I've got a TH30 combo, which I dearly love, but it tends to be strident (trebly) when played through the internal G12H30 speaker. When I plug my 2x12 open back cab (Creamback M's) in along with the internal speaker, or just by itself, it becomes very warm and beautiful. I put a Creamback in the comb...

Re: Just a question!

I prefer Tung Sol or EHX (they're almost identical) because they seem to have some pleasant surprises that JJ's lack. That being said, it's all very subjective and they're affordable, so it's easy to try a few and form your own opinion.

Re: The ultimate Orange lunchbox amp comparison! (7 amps)

They all sound very similar to me. I could get along fine with any of them. I've got an OR15 because of the effects loop, but the Rocker 15 also has one plus a clean channel. They're all pretty nifty amps.

Re: Orange amplification ....I would like please

A Tremlord head would be nice. Even without the spring reverb it would still be a great amp. They sound really good to my ears.

Re: Found a pair of 4 x 15 Orange Cabinets

This is what the guy at orange had to say. So, this is a 4 x 15 off set bass cabinet and would have been sold during the era of the 250watt Orange Matamp Guitar Amps. The picture of the cabinet showing the speakers have the 1 pin nylon corners which were used from 1968 -69. The picture of the cabin...

They weigh about 50kg each, i'll take a proper look at the date codes when I pick them up but the pre rola label dates them no later than 1971 i think
Might be earlier. Cabs like that did not last very long. You'd have to hire 2 extra people to move them.
