Re: More advice needed, Tele/Esq.

If there's a pickguard on top, carefully shaped bits of foam should keep the pickup where you want it without having to think about threaded inserts. Otherwise, putting black pickup mounting screws through your black pickguard might work and not look too obvious, though you'd need long ones...

Re: Tell me how to customize my p90 guitar wiring

Try not to get too carried away - I have a Les Paul with a pair of P-Rails, and Seymour Duncan's Singleshot pickup surrounds - each surround has 2 switches in to allow you to select each coil, or series, or parallel, and also have a fishman powerbridge for acoustic stuff. I think technically I have ...

Re: Tell me how to customize my p90 guitar wiring

How about a switch that wires them in series, while simultaneously bypassing all controls. It can be done with a 4PDT toggle.

Re: mxr chrous too loud in the thunder 30 effects loop

It's a delay-based effect, so it would make sense for it to be in the loop... I would also expect it to have (near) unity gain, which should make no difference to where it is in the chain. The amp input should be highish impedance, as should the effects return.

Re: Help finding my pick

I keep my picks (all sorts - I like trying different stuff every time I'm in a guitar shop) in a pick box... The sort that they sometimes display picks in on the counter. They often get the picks cheaper in the display boxes than in bags, as it advertises the brand much better! Shops (sorry, stores)...

Re: I nearly bid on this Rockerverb combo... crazy price!!

It seems MkI RVs are going cheap or not selling at the mo... I'm trying to get rid of mine to fund a TH30 (I've wanted a smaller amp for a while, but needed an fx loop) and there don't seem to be any bites yet. Part-ex seems to be my best option (!)

Re: 2 Birds with one stone(r riff) - TH30 and Orange 410

I'd also be interested in a comparison of the dirty channels of the TH30 and RV100H, as I'm thinking of downscaling, now there's finally a lower-power Orange with a loop! I assume the clean channels of these are a bit closer... For reference, I generally have my gain between 9 and 12o'clock, I use p...

Troy Nelson - Guitar Aerobics

It's the only exercise book I've ever managed to pick up more than once, and it really shows what sort of styles/techniques can trip you up, as it goes through quite a few.

Just got the Pulse DVDs - can't get enough of Comfortably Numb. It's almost worth watching the whole thing with the sound off to wonder at the lighting rig!

I'm surprised Joe hasn't chipped in yet.
Have played the tribute 5-string basses, and was very tempted.

I'm afraid that if they do give me a scholarship, all of it will be going on living costs (then again, I have just ordered a pedalboard, things can't be that bad!).
