Re: 4x12 Cabinet choices
A question I can actually answer :D The Sheffield's are a totally different monster than the V30's in the PPC412. You're going to notice immediately that the Orange cab has way more mid range. Almost piercing at first. I honestly think you'll find you bought exactly what you're looking for. I was ru...

Re: Psychodelic
Needs more structure. Try laying down a good solid bass line first, then do the space guitars on top of that. Arya, I've always given you praise on the Marshall Forum when you've posted stuff up so I'm gonna try a little constructive criticism this time and hopefully you'll take it for what it is a...

Re: Would you buy an Orange scratch n dent?
I would go for the returned at a discount just because you get the warranty. Unless of course money is not an issue and you don't mind paying a tech to diagnose and repair.
As far as using the warranty, no, it stays in the U.S. To get worked on.

Re: Nasty Hum out of JR Terror
I did try changing the cables. After changing the PI tube with one out of another amp ( just to see if maybe I had a hand full of less than quality tung-sol's) the hum went away. So, moral of this story, even if you have a brand new replacement tube for every position , they may all just suck! I hat...

Re: Nasty Hum out of JR Terror
not under warranty any more unfortunately.
Yeah, I've tried replacing tubes in all positions. I mainly focused on that one at first cause it was the only position making noise when tapped on.

Nasty Hum out of JR Terror
Ok, so I looked in the tube layout section so that I could describe this correctly but there is no layout for the JR Terror in that thread. So, I'm just gonna give it a shot here. What I believe to be stage 1-2 or V1 of the 12ax7 positions ( looking at the front of the amp, furthest tube to the righ...

Re: New Cab Day Woo Hoo!!!
That's the way to do it! Sure looks cool. How's it sound compared to your old cab? (obviously the speakers aren't Broken in yet) You know, they were bad but not as bad as I thought they were gonna be. I'm a believer in the grill cloth that Orange uses. It is a big piece of the mojo with these cabs....

New Cab Day Woo Hoo!!!
Well, I finally saved enough money to not have to make payments on one. I wanted a separate 212 for my Jim Root #4 but didn't want to go with a signature cab as well as a signature head. I'm not big on signature gear, but the ability to have a Rockerverb based, low wattage amp...well you get the pic...

Re: NAD, First Orange
You'll find it plenty loud to play with a band. I swear it's rated about 5-10 watts lower than it really is. Kinda funny that we both got rid of the same amp to get the #4.
