Re: I fear that Orange will suffer a decline...
That all makes sense. So, why not at least expand the custom shop offerings, to at least maintain the legacy created by the classic products? Set prices that make sense and I'm sure that there will be buyers. Marshall has production versions of some of their classics. I don't think Orange necessari...

Re: I fear that Orange will suffer a decline...
Orange should return to the basic no-nonsense powerful-when-cranked-stuff from yester-year That's not where the money is. I have the same preferences as you, but we are no longer the target market for their core products. The music gear market has become a living breathing tech market. Look at what...

Re: Rocker 30 vs Rocker 32
Today I hooked up a TC Electronic Viscous Vibe and a Flashback delay, both in stereo, in the loop of a Rocker 32. It sounded incredible and huge, extremely impressive for a little 2x10. A customer, a coworker, and I were very impressed.

Re: Yamaha THR100 :(
Ok, a used Quilter and one used EVM-12L speaker should come in under $500. Put the EVM-12L in your 2x12, plug the Quilter into that speaker, and you're set. Keep the V30 in the other spot for use with the TT.

Re: Yamaha THR100 :(
The Tone Block and Pro Block are both under $500 new. Used, even less. What cabinet are you currently using with the Ironhorse? Do you need to get a new cabinet as well? If you need something super cheap, an old solid state Fender Pro 185 will do the trick for under $200, but that's a combo. The hea...

Try a Quilter Tone Block or Pro Block.

Re: No more Thunderverbs and ORs???
Yeah, it's disappointing, but I don't blame Orange. To me it just looks like an unfortunate, yet necessary business decision. I don't know about the state of music retail on an international level, but from my local perspective it appears to be treading water at best. My shop has some guitars on the...

Re: Rocker32? PFFFT! Take a hike!
Dang, B_N! Nice job!
Sorry about your band mate troubles. Its a shame nobody near you is into this stuff, cuz you have this dialed in.
And the tones are good, of course. In my mind, all the more reason some version of the Rocker should be available.

Re: ORST vs Marshall video
I must be weird. I really prefer the sound of the ORST in that video. Maybe the Orange could be dialed in differently, but to me the Marshall's midrange sounds oddly scooped, and the upper mids sound hyped, when stood up against the ORST. I also prefer the OR80 in the other video, but by a smaller m...

Re: Rocker 30 vs Rocker 32
Nice tune! I feel like this recording mostly illustrates how much those 10's can potentially cut through a mix. The 32 really has some bite compared to the 30; I'm going to assume that's mostly because of the speakers. The good ole V30 has that rich fullness, and then BAM! I really like the sound of...

Re: I'm back, the Orange Expert or something
1. I had never heard of the Blasters or Toasters before. I think those look super cool, and thanks for sharing that bit of Orange/Matamp history.
2. I was about to say, "hey those auctions are from Electric Amps, WTF!"
3. That electricscamps website is hilarious.

Re: NAD - Rocker 32
Nice vid, jay! You did a good job of showing the stereo capability. The store where I work got one in last week, and I spent a little time with it. Keep in mind that I played it at sales floor volume. My coworkers and I were very impressed with the tone. Despite the 10's, there is still plenty of lo...

Re: OR100 or RV100 mkiii?
I use an OR100 to make music in a similar orbit. It's great, but these days it may be a bit harder to find one than a RV mkIII. I still have never played a mkIII Rockerverb, but most people seem to describe them as being quite similar to the OR100. It seems the OR is capable of a slightly thicker an...

Re: NAD - Rocker 32
So far I've had the impression that the 32 is a true stereo amplifier. Perhaps it's just not a very "wide" sounding stereo because the speakers are so close together inside the combo? I may have got something else in the pipe... hint it's silver. Ooooo... Shiny? Or Jube-y? Jube-y... I like it and ac...
