Re: Handy to have a guitar like this for Halloween!

I've always wanted one of these, are they any good? I mean, they're suspiciously cheap... The brass wraparound bridge seems pretty decent and you can intonate it which you cant with LP jr's. How are the tuning machines? Do they stay in tune? What about pickups, any good? I'd love to hear your input ...

Re: Strymon...?

I can't compare the two since I've only tried one but the El Capistan sounds absolutely fantastic.
Beautiful and clear.

Looks good! I really like the stained wood look, just like the Emperor or Verellen cabs.

Baldwin Burns Buzzaround and Orange amps

I've had a buzzaround clone for a couple of years and I love the sound of it, but there is somethings I've noticed with it. Its not very loud. With all the knobs at 12 o'clock its at unity. Which can be a good thing if you want to play a clean amp then hit some fuzz without a lot of DB difference. B...

Re: Orange amp dilemma

The OR50 takes pedals just fine. Just look at Scott Holiday from Rival Sons, he has a massive pedalboard and sports 3! OR50 on stage. I dont know how well it does at low volumes though since I dont own one myself. The Rockerverb sounds great at all volumes and I did some recording with it at low vol...

Re: NAD OTR

Not sure of the exact Orange exchange rate between Australia and Norway myself. Or is it 1:1? Andy. Im afraid you lost me there... Well, things like old Oranges and Hiwatts aren't nearly as rare or expensive in Britain as they are in the US say. So they go for a lot more in some countries th...

Would you say this is a good indication for the value of my amp?
Sure. Why not?
Is it? I hope so because I got it for more less than half of that..

Re: NORCD

That's really cool that some people can have a space in which they can meet and be musically creative. Really really cool indeed. 8) We've been going strong for 26 years now, and my 5th! Considering its a small town with just shy of 32k people living here, we've done allright with our self. A lot o...

Re: NAD OTR

Now, I have a new question. In the Orange field guide it says that the OTR is fixed bias. Ive only had cathode biased amps before this but its my understanding that I can swap the preamp tubes without biasing, right? Its only the power amp tubes that need biasing? Im still honeymooning the crap out ...

Re: NAD OTR

[ Just for laughs and giggles, with the amp off, turn the master all the way up. Does the knob go way past where you would think the top volume is? Mine does - it totally threw me when I realised that "ten" was at about 6:30 on the dial! Isn't that probably just the knobs on your own amp Billy. And...

Re: NAD OTR

Technically safer. I have had no problem running an OR120 into a 4x12 cab with four 30watt speakers. And my OTR120 is actually a combo with a pair of Vintage 30s (60 watt speakers) not unlike your PPC212 cabinet. So you think Im safe running the PPC212? I got to crank it up today and BOY WAS I WRON...
