Farewell Friends!

I read the post Orange put up about shutting down the forum. I agree the traffic is light here but I liked that I always had interest in 99% of the threads unlike some other forums that seem to be riddled with the “what do you think? pick guard on or off?” type junk. Thanks to everyone who contribut...

Re: Best Orange for good tone at low volumes?

I would think you already have the best option in the RV. I’ve got an RV 50 and no other amp comes even close to quiet but amazing tone as that one. Stop looking elsewhere and trust your RV! Agreed. The best practice amp I have is the RV MKIII because it is way easier to control volume wise. No mat...

Re: Orange amplification ....I would like please

Is this an open thread for others to chime in on? If so, and OR50 212 combo. I love lunchbox heads but my truest of loves is for combos... I know I know, they lack flexibility and are harder on tubes and components but I’m a big fan of combos and how self contained they are. A Dual Dark mkII would a...

Re: Talk to me about Orange Clean Tones

+1 on the AD30TC. The amp is so damn spanky when you the volume up a little and get a little hair on it.

The TH30 and AD30TC have the best orange cleans to me. Also haven’t tried the tremlord so that could also be great.

Re: Rockerverb 50 MKIII DARK

Have you tried diming the treble and rolling out all of the bass? One thing I have learned about oranges over the years is to ignore what an eq setting should LOOK like and just go by what sounds good. I run my eq sections pretty weird compared to what Mesa guys and Marshall guys all run but I love ...

Re: I want an Ad30

I think the amp is thought of as low gain in comparison to other modern amps. It certainly isn’t something like a deluxe reverb where you have to push the volume to get any gain but I feel like it needs more volume to get a good gain tone compared to stuff like my RV or TH30. I remember first trying...

Re: Best Orange Board for me

You say you practice monthly and your current amp isn't loud enough for rehearsals. I would say then that the number of times you gig is irrelevant. If you would use it for practice and shows, then you are going to get good use of it, no? You mention the RV MKII but just to throw another option, the...

Re: Tiny Terror vs Rocker 15

the fact that the Rocker 15 is easier to replace is also in the equation. This is 100% my feeling on it. You can always buy another Rocker 15 but there are limited TTHW's out there and I am guessing their value will be going up while used Rocker 15's will probably be going down in value for a while.

Re: Help me choose the right Rockerverb mkIII for me!

I have the 50 watt combo and the 100 watt head as well as 212OB, 212CB and used to have 412CB. It depends on your genre and what you like but my experience is that that 50 watt combo is the best sounding to my ear. I have never used a 50 watt head version but I have played the combo through a closed...

Re: NGD: Epiphone Snow Falcon

thanks and so far it is fun. better than expected. i am really enjoying the killpot. i'm fairly familiar with nitro yellowing with time. but what i am talking about is not consistent with the nitro yellowing i'm used to seeing that takes place with age. the yellowing is splotchy on a lot of them an...

Re: NGD: Epiphone Snow Falcon

every single one i found had the same problem, the white was starting to yellow It is probably just splitting hairs but a nitro finish yellowing isn't necessarily a problem but a characteristic. All Gibsons yellow with time, it just depends on the conditions it lives in. Congrats on the new guitar!...

It looks good.... and it looks like you're pretty good at Tetris too.
haha, the combos and cabs were anticipated but the 212 and head was kind of a nice little surprise when it fit into place.

Re: Share your Multi-Amp Setups

https://i.imgur.com/hqXaEEp.jpg Ok, finally got it to work. The pic is off centered... sorry... I am running into a RV MKIII combo + 212OB and an AD30TC combo + 212OB. I run a strymon Deco in front of them so the AD30 is slightly delayed behind the RV. I will periodically use the deco for stereo fl...

Re: Best 2-channel Orange amp that can cover classic rock, 90's alternative rock, and stoner rock?

AD30TC might be up your alley. The OR100 doesn't really cover much different ground than a Rockerverb to my ear but I really like the OR100 and the Rockerverb so others might have a better ear for it.
