Dual Dark "Booster"
Greetings to all! So, what would be your choice to "boost" the Dual Dark? "Boost" as in tightening it even more, give it a little extra "whooomp", "fatten" a little bit and, especially, give me some added extra tweak-able EQ options to widen my options, allowing to get it more "unique sounding"? Cle...

Dual Dark 50 or 100? "Darkness and Wattage" discussion
Hi guys! So... I'm currently a buyer of a Dual Dark to "replace" my Thunderverb 50. Just waiting for the "right, used opportunity" to arrive but... I still haven't decided which one I'm going to wait for. 50 or 100? Which one do you think will fit better for a "gigging workhorse"? Which would be the...

Re: Footswitch experience
Jessss... I just can get this right! "Clean" is Channel A on my Thunderverb and B is "Dirty". Light is ON with A and OFF with B. I would say it is "reversed" and I would like to have it the other way round... Can you explain to me R.E.A.L.L.Y S.L.O.W.L.Y how to get this right? "Right" would be "Clea...

Re: Dual Dark questions
So, do you guys want to get into speculating what Orange is going to present as a "replacement" for the DD? NAMM 2019 is just across the corner... I wish they did a MKII with Reverb like the Thunderverb had. Nevertheless I'm curious about it. Any "insiders" here who have heard "stuff" through the gr...

Friedman Buxom Boost pedal + Orange amps
So... Any of you have any experience with this pedal to boost the front end of an Orange amp? I was wondering how this could work to give the dirty sounds of B channel of my Thunderverb 50 some extra *WHOOOMPPPP*, gain and "tightness". I have been hearing great things about it and the reviews say it...

Thunderverb's "big transformers" also on the Dual Dark?
Hey guys! So... On Thunderverb I've heard Orange market it as "having bass amp big output transformers". Great for down-tuning heavy tones. Checked! It rocks. My question is: Does the Dual Dark which is "Thunderverb-based" (it actually "made" TV's go discontinued), share the same "output transformer...

Boost a dirty channel: "Proper" clean boost or OD
Hey guys! So... I'm trying to boost the "dirty" Channel B of my Thunderverb 50 for added "WHOOOP", "tightness" and "full bodied-ness" and I would like to know your opinions, as I won't have the chance to try all of these... Which, "in theory", will offer better results? A "proper" clean boost, (the ...

Re: Thuderverb 50 to Dual Dark 100 upgrade!!!? Makes sense? Is it worth it?
If you have to work to make your amp sound different for your core tone, you have the wrong amp. I'm starting to think you are completely right... I keep getting this happening to me often: "Oh, that's sounds awesome! I want some of that!!", to later find it was a Dual Rectifier or a 5150. It kind ...

Re: Thuderverb 50 to Dual Dark 100 upgrade!!!? Makes sense? Is it worth it?
Hmmm... I can't hire but I can probably A/B one at the local music shop. I can have it send here so I can try it, as long as it's in stock in any shop from the chain. Actually I was thinking of A/B'ing the Dual Dark 100 and the Rockerverb 100 MKIII. I'm having seconds thoughts about this. They say t...

Re: Thuderverb 50 to Dual Dark 100 upgrade!!!? Makes sense? Is it worth it?
I already have a clean boost (Pigtronix Class A Boost) and excuse me me for the "blasphemy" I would like my Thunderverb to become closer to "5150 modern" of some sorts.... But still with a "touch of Orange in it". It's actually a weird thing to want. (?) "Tighter and a little more modern but still w...

Re: Thuderverb 50 to Dual Dark 100 upgrade!!!? Makes sense? Is it worth it?
Hey guys! Thanks a lot for the replies. Awesome! Unfortunately I can't afford to have both. So... About this "low-end" I'm trying to find some video reviews so I can "have a feel" for the difference between the DD50 and DD100. Help me if you will. Thanks. Also, as for now, can you guys give me some ...

Thuderverb 50 to Dual Dark 100 upgrade!!!? Makes sense? Is it worth it?
So, I'm considering it... Upgrading from my current Thunderverb 50 to a Dual Dark 100! I like the fact that the Dual Dark has a extra gain stage and keeps the main functions and controls I love about my Thunderverb, namely the awesome attenuator and "no-frills" shape control. Also, a "more modern so...

Re: WhWich flightcase would you trust your amp to travel with?
Hmm... depends. What kind of amp do you need a roadcase for? Combo? Head? 4X12? If you're going for a combo, I would suggest getting a case with a top compartment for things you might need. Mine fits pedalboard size stuff. Pictured is my roadcase for my Marshall combo, but I have a similar one for ...

Which flightcase would you trust your amp to travel with?
So... It's pretty simple. Which flightcase would you trust your amp to travel with? Occasional flight travel and being throw around between gigs and rehearsals... Preferably European-made as it would be cheaper to send to my address. Also, which options and features would you look for? Ah! And this ...

2x PPC212 or x1 PPC412? Advantages and Disadvantages
Hi, I'm planning to acquire a 2nd PPC212 cab and I want to know how would they compare against 1x PPC412. In theory they would be about the same but, with extra multipurpose/versatility/portability. I could take just one of the PPC212 out to band practices and what-not. I guess, tonally they would b...
