Re: Orange Rocker 30 Problem.
It's not about the EL34s getting their 400 volts(plate voltage), it is about them (and the other non-glowing preamp tubes) getting their 6.3V heater supply. The Rocker 30 is a weird setup. It uses a mains transformer originally designed to supply a valve rectifier (5V heater) as well as preamp/powe...

Re: Orange Rocker 30 Problem.
I put it on the back burner for the week.
I can confirm the twisted pair buzzed out fine, and the EL34s are getting their 400+ volts. Been having a hard time finding a schematic :\

My guess is that the connection fails on the splicer on V5 - otherwise both EL34 would warm up.
It could be something totally different of course.

Re: Orange Rocker 30 Problem.
It looks like a valve heater circuit failure. I had the same issue on my 2 AD15s a while back. I beleive the R30 uses similar splicers, and they are bound to fail at some point. https://i.imgur.com/zdCFSsI.jpg In this pic of the inside of my R30, you can see a yellow twisted wire going from the pil...

Orange Rocker 30 Problem.
V3 and the power tubes aren't lighting up.
The Power LED also isn't lighting it (which gets it's power from a power tube).

Re: New amp day...... Advice needed!! :)
I'm more of a rhythm player myself so looking for the boost to push the amp a little harder when I need it so I've a little more diversity to my sound. So effectively it'll give me 4 possible tones from the amp rather than just clean and dirty. The Spark is a great pedal, but I've already got 4 TC ...

Re: Life Realization - I've never touched my Tone knob...
I've never used my tone knobs. (Les Paul player) but I use my volume all the time.
Being someone who treats his amps like a single channel (I let the amp do the overdriving, not a stomp box) a simple downturn on the volume knob goes a long way to cleaning things up.

Re: What band/sounds/artist made you want an Orange Amp
Non really, just been a Marshall fan for years and I saw a MK I OR RV100, tried it out, and fell in love with it's dark british voicing, looked at the build quality, a chock that's nice, the irons looked solid, and the option to voice them with 6L6s. I played it all weekend while writing some new ri...
