Re: 40th Anniversary "Girl's Name" amps
Interesting. I guess another question is are they any different that the CS50? (other than non-master volume) and is that difference an improvement or not. I like no master volume but does that justify the cost?

40th Anniversary "Girl's Name" amps
Is there any information or documentation on what each one sounds like?
For some bizarre reason I'm thinking of one... Spendy little beasts tho...

Re: Custom Shop 50 bias voltage.
Let us know how you make out with that PT. Oh that...   Yeah, for the "crank it" for the caps I'll need to grab an attenuator of sorts. Though there is rust on the plates which a local tech said could create an issue if it's an indicator of moisture getting in between them. The amp ...

Re: Custom Shop 50 bias voltage.
Forget the factory bias recommendation. Set the bias how it sounds best to you, within the operating limits set by the manufacturer of the tubes you’re using. This will be expressed in plate dissipation wattage, which takes the whole operation of the tube into account. Setting only using the negati...

Re: Custom Shop 50 bias voltage.
I have no idea, but please post any info you find out. Also if you come across a schematic, send me a message! Will do. The schematic will be tough. I'm not sure how willing or legally able an authorized repair shop would be to give one out. As far as bias voltages go- The original tubes at pin(s) ...

Re: Custom Shop 50 bias voltage.
Hi - welcome to the forum. We err on the side of not encouraging people to do their own biasing since we don't know anyone's electrical knowledge or whether they're 8 or 80. Personally, I have no idea but maybe someone who does could PM you with the info. Thanks for your input. Yes, not knowing one...

Custom Shop 50 bias voltage.
Hi all- Can anyone tell me the proper bias voltage in a CS 50? At pin(s)1/8 I get 1.2mv which seems pretty small to me. Also- I haven't powered the amp up in my home in years, but when I did recently, the power transformer sounds like a noisy ballast in a fluorescent lamp. I might be sensitized to t...

Re: Interested in opinions on future amp purchase
I was in a similar boat with wanting something that was more like the original OR's or Matamps.
I chose a CS50.
Well worth it!

New Amp Day !
So I've been lurkin' about…. After reading the well informed answers to mine (and several others') posts, I went and ordered a head and cab. Before beaming an announcement I chose to wait until it arrived. It was a long wait; it was on the slow boat to be sure. Saved a bunch so that was good… Anyhoo...

Re: Orange NAMM 2014
Handwired, single channel, pics only, OR120….. With a blender attachment for mid gig smoothies! I think it's better to wait until after the show to 'mix up a smoothie'. An OR120 with a ViaMix built in. Ah, just set a bowl full of your favorite smoothie stuffs in front of the cab and crank it...
