Re: VT1000 Tube tester adapters

I will be getting my VT1000 in a few days. I have made an adapter for 7027 valve since it is internally identical to a 6L6GC. The adapter passes all pins except pin 1 and 6 which are not present on a 6L6. I will see how it works on the 7027's. Let me know if any one else has any adapters for tubes ...

Musique Industrie

I figured this company from the 70s might be of interest here. Unfortunately I don't have one, I was just surfing this site: http://musiqueindustrie.free.fr/page23/page8/files/tete-musique-industrie-76745.jpg The amps seem cosmetically related to Orange, but they just copied the look. Their first an...

Re: Micro Dark direct recording issues

That's what computer settings do. There is not only an input level control, but another one which does something else internally so you can get a distorted sound with a low level, plus mic/line and whatever other settings. Someone could write a book about it, it can't be covered in a thread on a for...

Re: Micro Dark direct recording issues

You can spend hours looking into the audio settings for computers, it's really frustrating.

But besides that, you might want to try a stereo cable to see what happens. I have a hunch it's the settings, but try that as well.

Re: OR15 only works with cable in effects loop

I've seen so many switching jacks fail (not in Orange amps, but in general), I would say the chance of a bad solder joint is low, although it's possible if it is a loose jack disconnected from a PC board. Also if it's a loose solder joint, the patch cable fix will likely not work. Unfortunately it's...

Re: Clipping Sound on my Micro Dark, is it defective?

I don't have a Micro Dark anymore, but I think it's completely normal if I remember how it worked. If you have the guitar's volume controls all the way up, only the first notch on the gain dial will give a clean sound, past it you get distortion. The OR15 is the same way. On the Micro Terror you can...

Re: Best 12ax7 to use inV1 in an orange amp ?

At the end of the day, there are only 3 factories, JJ, New Sensor (EH, sovtek, tung sol, mullard....) and chinese Shuguang, for modern valves. i've seen people say 3, 4, 5 and 7 on different forums. one of the best posts i've ever seen on vacuum tube makers lists 3 main current regions where they a...

Re: Anyone used the Orange Vertical 2x12?

I use a vertical 2x12 all the time and it's great. I like that I can hear myself better and It also puts your amp at a better height to be able to make adjustments easier. Also lighter to carry around than a 4x12. I use the Closed back cabinets though, I just put them on it's side. But I did Modify...

I bought mine with an amp and cab and thought I'd flip it, but it was to good toilet go. I use mine almost all the time now.
Don't flush it, it'll clog.

Re: High pitched noise from Micro Terror

I was getting a similar noise, but only in certain circumstances. Only if I plug in or unplug a cable from the input while the amp is on and the volume is not on zero. Goes away if I turn the amp off, then back on. I think it also happened if I messed with the effects (unplugged and plugged differen...

Re: Micro Terror is loud!

Yeah, it's pretty loud, especially if you have the gain higher than 9 o'clock and use some loud cab(s). Or maybe it's some weird taper, it's louder on 2 or 3 than my 50 watt all valve amp.

Re: DEFINITIVE ORANGE GUIDE TO: Overdrive/Boost/Dist/Fuzz Pedals

Lately I've been using the Joyo Ironman Metalhead with my Micro Terror. It's not only tiny like the amp, but it sounds really good because it has a mids knob and a highs knob. It has more than enough bass, and you can adjust that with the tone knob on the amp. It's really easy to scoop the mids. I t...
