Re: RUSH?!?

Rush are awesome but like most prig bands you have to sift through the crap.

2112 and signals are amazing but 'roll the bones' with the gay rap in the middle make me wanna do a ryu fireball at the stereo

Re: Speaker examples

I have had the Veteran 30 back in the cab today and played with it more. Using an Orange TH30, the WGS sounds better than the Vintage 30 at low volume (7watt, volume - quarter way up). At normal volume (30watt, volume - half way) they both come to life and sound great but i can't pick a favourite be...

Re: Montage Cabs???

The manufacturer is lean-business.co.uk. I have no idea at all why the Montage cabs don't have their own website but lean business is the biggest speaker dealer for the UK and the idea is to offer a cab to their customers and get a discount on the speakers. The Intro cabs are made in china and the p...

Re: Speaker examples

The governor really is very good. I have been playing it as much as possible before it goes back. This is my last video with it before i go back to the WGS to do a Retro 30 vs Veteran 30 video.

Here is the Governor again

Poor old Paul Kossoff. Love that blokes playing. My dad was a huge Free fan so their music is like the soundtrack to my life lol

Re: Speaker examples

Thanks :)

I would rather carry on gigging with the V30 than use the governor. The V30 has better midrange for medium gain.

I'm gonna knock the high gain stuff on the head next week and do more rock, blues kinda stuff. The music is a bit naff but i just use whatever my brain farts out lol

Re: Speaker examples

I decided to chuck the Eminence Governor in a VC-50 and see how it sounded. It got on a lot better in the mix. I used EQ and put a hump in the mids at 500k which seems to have opened up the sound a bit. Funny thing is, its like i'm putting back the V30 hump that Eminence took out http://youtu.be/Ou-...

Re: Speaker examples

Thanks Andy

I just put the V30 back in the Montage cab and recorded the same riff with the Montage and the Orange cab. Both sounded identical

Re: Speaker examples

I would like to do the test again with my 1x12 Orange cab but i need that cab to gig and i don't want it getting the wear and tear thats involved with all these speaker changes.

Re: Ever been in "the zone"

I can't say i've ever been to some magical place while playing. I'm more of a physical theory person, as in, play to a metronome and the strength you build gives you the ability to lock into time. Having said that..........Gary Moores spunk faces used to make me wonder if i'm missing out on somethin...

Re: Speaker examples

The governor is still in the cab so i'm gonna play with it a bit more today. It defo makes a difference what cab is being used though. Especially with the high gain stuff. Cheap cabs vibrate too much because of the light wood and the distortion can't keep itself together. I am using the Montage cabs...
